I really lost it today with a Republican
Posted by LiberalEsto on Mon Mar-17-08 07:37 PM

I was complaining to a long-time friend, who unfortunately is Republican, about the *******ed banking industry on how many ways they are screwing us now that they are virtually unregulated.

I'm pissed about the huge unjustified overdraft charges my kids keep getting hit with on their debit cards on every little pretext.

I'm pissed about how the only student loans available now are variable-rate ones.

I'm pissed because my daughter's student loan balance keeps going up because of "capitalized interest" that keeps getting tacked on. I don't give a shit what arcane rule they've created to justify this kind of crap -- it's just plain wrong to create student loans like this, when these kids can barely find jobs to make the payments. My kid works at a daycare center making minimum wage because that's all she can find, and she takes two courses a semester. Why aren't we investing more in kids' educations instead of bailing out rich bankers and stockbrokers?

I'm pissed about the ****ing federal bailout of Bear Sterns with OUR tax dollars, while these bank bastards are foreclosing on tens of thousands of mortgages, ripping off what little equity these poor people might have put into their homes, and kicking them out on the streets empty handed with bad credit ratings.

I told my friend I am so sick and tired of what these Republican bastards have been doing to destroy our country and our democracy since Day 1 of the stolen B*sh regime - the *******ed war that's sucking our soldiers' lives and health and our tax dollars. The unjustified, warrantless spying on our emails and phone conversations. The erosion of our civil liberties. I said they were ****ing traitors.

I have kept my mouth buttoned to this friend about rethug politics for 7 years, because we've known each other since we were little kids and our kids are friends. But today I finally HAD ENOUGH.

And she didn't defend them, to my astonishment. She said she knew change was needed, and to hang on because change would be coming this November. I never expected her to take this view, but it seems even some Republicans in this country may have had enough.

I just hope we can survive until January 20, 2009.

Are you ****ing kidding me?  You're pinnng your hopes on January 20, 2009?  Why isn't the majority-democrat congress doing anything to rectify this problem?   With a democrat president, will you still have excuses (Bush screwed up so much we can't fix it)?  If that's the case, why bother with a democrat president?

Where is a "nothing Accomplished" graphic when you need one?  :bird:

The democrat congress answer is to raise taxes by leaps and bounds in 2010.

Look how much just having democrats control the purse strings for one year has screwed everything up.  Can you imagine years and years of their idiotic economic "policies" actually becoming law?

Overdraft charges are only applied if you...well...overdraw your account.
There is an easy way to avoid them.

Make sure you have enough fricken money in the account to cover what you are using the card to pay for DUmbass!!

Sheesh. :banghead:

This asshat doesn't want anyone, including her own kid, to take responsibility for themselves.

If a "friend" of mine spewed that garbage at me, I wouldn't have just coddled her, "There, there, change is coming in November", and I don't care how long our friendship was.

I would be telling her that if her college aged child was getting hit with bank charges, I would recommend teaching her child how to be responsible with her bank account by managing it or else don't  have one. That is the penalty for being irresponsible, and too bad.

And NO way would I have just kept my mouth shut if some liberal started prattling on like a lunatic about how Bush "stole" the election.

I was thinking the SAME thing about it lacking a conversion, but I gave it 2 bongs...one for this being a childhood "friend" and two for the effort she put forth in writing out her liberal grievances  :-)

Bullshit. You don't have any friends, let alone republican ones.

Boo ****in' hoo. You should have taught them not to spend more than they have, you twit.

If Obama or Hilldawg actually stop fighting long enough to win an election, you honestly think things like this will change, instantly on the date they get into office.
 :rotf:

News flash : Hilldawg will be too busy stealing the stuff she didn't get last time she had access to the silverware, and Obama will be busy looking for the Dummies guide to Presidential Powers.

You know if a liberal friend of mine came unglued like this, I think I'd agree too. If for no other reason than to get her to shut the hell up. Poor thing was probably itching for a fight where her arrogance at her assumed superiority would be on full display. Her friend took the wind right out of her sails, I'd say.

I don't even know where to start with such stupidity.

It's mind boggling.  These people need to be put out of their misery.  They are, for all practical purposes, too stupid to live.
