Clueless thugs who want to be the next president

Sara Palin, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, Mike Huckabee and other Republicans are already geared up for the 2012 presidential primaries. All I can say to them is that you or I have a better chance of becoming president than do any of them.

There’s only one thing for which we can thank Bush/Cheney. They have totally destroyed the possibility that any Republican will occupy the White House for the foreseeable future.

I love listening to cable “news” pundits talk about how Obama has pissed off some sector of the population and has jeopardized his chances for reelection. Give me a break. What are Americans going to do in 2012? Reelect the party that drove us into a bottomless sewer? No matter how dumb many believe the “unwashed masses” to be, how could anyone believe they’re insane enough to put another thug in the White House at this time?

There are forces in the M$M that believe they can make one of the forenamed Republican presidential wannabees acceptable to us. It ain’t gonna’ happen.

Print this on the palm of your hand and look at it every day. Obama will be our president for the next eight years. The wannabees and their surrogates will attack him every hour of every day, but they’re shoveling shit against the tide of history.

I know there are many here on DU who believe I’m being overly optimistic and underestimating the Party of Thugs. But short of their finding a way to once again steal an election, someone is going to have to explain to me how they will regain power at a time when the majority of Americans have finally grasped that the Republican Party has screwed them into the second “great American depression.”

Oh, I dunno.  We'll see.

1. Romney is not a "clueless thug," even if we do not agree with him.

4. Okay, Romney may not be clueless. However...you or I have a better chance of becoming president than does Romney. And here's why.

The man's principals shift on a hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly basis to adjust to whatever it is that people want to hear. This is not unusual for a politician, but Romney is about as subtle as Rush Limbaugh. I believe that a majority of Americans are onto him.

Romney is a Mormon. The "base" of the Republican Party is southern (mostly Baptist) who believe that Mormons are a cult. Romney cannot rely on the most reliable sector of the Republican base.

Obama is perhaps the smartest politician we have or will see in our lifetimes. Picture TV ads of Romney contradicting his own positions second by second over a period of one minute, or even 30 seconds.

I repeat: You or I have a better chance of becoming president than does Romney.

Oh, I dunno.  We'll see.

9. And that viewpoint has been reinforced by

Their pastors - from the big names like Falwell before he kakked, Dobson, etc. to every pastor of every little backwater, snake-handling church have told their parishioners over and over again that Mormonism is a cult.

If Romney does get the nomination, the pastors will be tripping over themselves so fast doing a 180 to support him, but a lot of the damage will be done.

10. Careful with that hubris bro

Totally destroyed the possibility that any Republican will occupy the White House for the foreseeable future?

I certainly hope so. But how many Democrats said that six months after Nixon resigned in disgrace?

Americans have a short memory, and a penchant for going with flavor-of-the-month type trends. HOWEVER, personally I find the pool of GOP potentials to be pretty well tainted and I can't imagine any of them occupying the big chair (with the possible exception of Pawlenty, but he reminds me of Kerry in a lot of ways). Palin? Too polarizing. Gingrich? Too used. Jeb Bush? Even George H.W. admits that noone wants another Bush anytime soon. Romney? Too Mormon. Jindal? Too ethnic.

Just my 2 cents, I could be wrong of course.

12. Yep....

I don't think they will have chance in 2012, not unless Obama ****s up big time and that's not looking like it's going to happen.

Oh, I dunno.  We'll see.

I'm praying to God that Palin runs.

Watch John Kasich with his run for Ohio governor...........Should he be elected and does what he says (cut state taxes ) and starts Ohio back from the brink, he could be a dark horse for 2012.

At the rate your Messiah is going, I doubt there will be a county left. So just in case we do have an election, I'll bet dollars to doughnuts there won't be a DemonRat within miles of the White House! The American people won't put up with this crap much longer! You're about to find out just how useless you are! Oh, and by the way, you asshats are no where near a majority in this country. I'd even venture to say it is the exact opposite!
I'm the guy your mother warned you about!

I don't see Sarah Palin running.  I do see her being the "kingmaker;" i.e., get her support and you've got the conservative wing of the party following you.

Supposedly, J.C. Watts is going to run for the governorship in Oklahoma.  I'd support him in a heartbeat (even though Coach has made me into a Nebraska fan) if he decided that he'd knock Obama out of the White House.
