Five Minutes to Live
« on: September 14, 2010, 04:34:30 PM »
Last week on TCM Underground they screened Johnny Cash and Vic Tayback in  Five Minutes to Live.  I had never even heard of this movie before but I have been  Johnny Cash fan since I was about 4 or 5 and so I gave it a watch.

The basic plot is to threaten to kill the wife (Cay Forrester) of a bank officer (Donald Woods) and thereby assure the bank officer will be cooperative with Cash's and Tayback's scheme to rob it the bank Woods works for.  Opie also stars as Woods' an Forrester's son.

The  movie is an odd and uneven mix of about 2 parts 1960s exploitation film and 1 part 1950s sitcom.  Cash sings in the movie but only one song as far as I remember and that song is Five Minutes to Live.

Highly recommended.
