I have had three friends (over 50 years old) kill themselves because they couldn't find a decent job to feed their families--after having good/great jobs for years.
They had great jobs during the decades-long reverberations of the Reagan Boom, which reached a crescendo during the Great Bush Prosperity. In a little over one term, the muslim has reversed that.
But wait a minute!
Many companies could care less about paying a "living wage" for new workers that come in their doors.
When was it, even during the Reagan Boom, that companies cared about a "living wage"?
Never.
Companies that survive care about paying the least they can to obtain and retain people who can make them profitable and prosperous.
That is the one thing that is absolutely unchanged from the onset of the Reagan Boom until the depths of the current 0conomy.
