I have a small but good thing to report...
...to wit: I attended the Tucson Gem Show with some friends this past few days. We stayed at a Country Inn in Tucson. On Saturday morning while we sat having breakfast, I looked up at the TV and lo! and behold! It was tuned to UP With Chris Hayes!!

I expected it to be tuned to Faux News, and was actually shocked to hear Chris and his guests having an intelligent discussion.

I took it as a good sign. Every little bit helps!

When I have breakfast with friends I do not watch television at all, so more good news to report!

Happy, happy day!

Who gives a shit if you watch TV while eating out. I think it is rude to listen to the crap on TV while others in your party is carrying on a conversation. Most places have the sound off or way down low. I would prefer, they turn the damn thing off.

Yeah, I can watch Fox News with the sound turned down.  Most of their chicks are good eye candy.

In case anyone is wondering, Chris Hayes is that guy on MesSNBC that looks less like a guy than Rachael Maddow if I am not mistaken.

I also have a small but good thing to report.

Over the weekend, I was at a convenience store.  I glanced at the newspaper.  Above the fold, was the headline:

Quote
Republicans Not Backing Down
"Constituents Pleased:  GOP Lawmakers listening to voters."

:panic:  I listened for the Four Horsemen, but none showed up.  So I bought the paper.  It was an AP story, and it showed surprisingly little bias.  It mainly talked about Town Halls, with some attendees asking their senators, "why hasn't Obama been impeached yet?"

OT:  Did anybody see the thread over there about Pelosi bitching about a pay cut?  They have little sympathy for her and wish she'd STFU.  I just wanted to drop this post somewhere:

86. We aren't going to be happy until every person

lives in the same clap board house.
Drive the same 4 cyl econobox.
Eat the same amount of calories a day.
Read the same books.
Watch the same TV shows and the same amount of TV.
Wear the same Walmartesque clothing.
Get paid the same amount of money regardless of what we do.
Have the same computers.

OMG, this isn't a progressive site. This is a site pushing for a "Harrison Bergeron" world.

Ignored.

Looks like a really gay Jake Gyllenhaal (I realize that statement is mostly redundant since 'Brokeback Mountain' came out).

Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

Screw that.  If I'm gonna watch TV while eating, I'll watch the Military Channel and dare a (D)Ummie to change it.

She'd be in high demand in a Federal pound-me-up-the-ass Prison.

He's got a purty mouth even though a lot of stupid shit comes out of it.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I agree about the TV bit. I hate going to restaurants(Applebbes, Margarita's, etc...) They all have tv's going all the time. It is very distracting. If you want to watchtv, go home and watch it. Having precious time, with friends, is not something you can take back...
