LOL, wouldn't that be something sweet. If they decided the only way to win in the future is to abandon a lot of the conservative stuff, and lurch to the left. That would be amazing, and really good for the country too!

It's what all the Beltway Ivy-Leaguers who control the party want, so I'm sure it will.  I expect they'll shoot for domestic partnerships and immigration amnesty of some form first.  I really wouldn't have a problem with an immigration fix if it involved actually sealing the border first, but there is no way in Hell that's going to happen, so they will agree to something the Dems want now in exchange for something in the future that will never actually happen.
