First was the way the people at the super dome reacted when the National Anthem was played.

Let me come clean, I think that playing the national anthem at all sporting events is a little jingoistic to me, especially if the only time the anthem is played is at sporting events.

Tonight it felt a little over the top, the response by the crowd, the way the people on the field reacted.

I may be off base but it just felt threatening.

Maybe because it was in New Orleans, a place that the government at the time of Katrina, basically said you're on your own, and still...

Again, it felt a little dangerous to me.

Then there was the Victoria Secret commercial where they were flaunting a size for all and all they showed was waif like women who ran the gamete from size 0 to size 1.

Granted it is Victoria Secret, but still...

I may be paranoid, but it seemed like I was living back in the Bush Administration when people displayed a love of country that was a mile wide and an inch deep and that women should be objectified.

I am reminded of this idiot couple back in the late 70's/early 80's that defected to the USSR (not spies or moles mind you, just ordinary young idiots). After spending about 6 months in the USSR they wanted to come back. Can't remember if they ever did come back. I hope they didn't.

I was amused by the fact the USA let them go. Didn't really work that way for the citizens of the USSR... what with the wall and all.

What a dumbass.  GAMETE is a mature male or female germ cell usually possessing a haploid chromosome set and capable of initiating formation of a new diploid individual by fusion with a gamete of the opposite sex.
Granted, I pulled that definition off the internet because when I saw the word gamete all I could remember what that it pertained to reproduction.
Still, DUmmie, the word you wanted was GAMUT.
Also, there are tons of countries out there where you wouldn't have to endure the National Anthem being played.  Please emigrate and take your buddies with you.

Turn down the volume, DUmbass!  I think it's patriotic, justified, and normal.  I even sing along with it.  Do you even know the words to it?

Yes, you are paranoid.  And Stupid.  And a DUmbass. 

Just because you/your S.O. is a size 28 doesn't mean Victoria Secret should be worn by just anyone.  I won't wear a thong for 2 reasons:  they are uncomfortable, and if I wore one, I'd look like a wooly mammoth wearing a rubber band.

Also, just because you and "The One" hates this country isn't reason for everyone else to hate it.  There are a lot more out there that love this country, and your kind will find out just how many come November.

Dangerous?  Threatening?   :mental:  I rowed over to see, but didn't bring any of it back.  Some people were questioning the Water Closet primitive, asking, what specifically are you talking about?  He remained vague, frightened, with a sense of dread, fear, and loathing. 

And, someone educated him about was a gamete was.  It doused the thread.

I just LOL'ed at the random Victoria Secret complaint.  Let me guess, the poster is a fat woman who gets upset when her husband (if she's even married) stares at the commercial until a Lane Bryant commercial comes on next.
