Well, the douchebag only mentioned Leonard Wood and Polk. No unit. Most vets don't say "I served at Gordon, Bragg, etc.", they'll tell you units. LW is basic training. Only major activities at Polk are JRTC and 4/10th Mountain Division. He said nothing about AIT, and I highly doubt he "managed" anything if he did serve. His brief military "history" is quite telling.

The Strykers aren't going away, just being given to another unit. They are allegedly giving to a national guard unit. I bet it has something to do with a lack of training areas in Hawaii that can support training for the Strykers. .

25th also has a brigade in Alaska that took over after the 172d deactivated. The 56th SBCT (PAARNG) is a Stryker unit.

Actually, I remember them making that argument before the 25th activated a brigade in Alaska because I was hoping I was going to get to go to Hawaii. I spent 104 days in '04 and 108 in '06 at Wainwright. They didn't want the Strykers messing up the land. I'd assume that was why they activated the 1/25th at Rich and Wainwright.

He might just be a disgruntled POS who gets his rocks off and did legitimately serve…but my gut…and experience with these types of anti-war “I served so don’t question what I say…Bush sucks…Iraq sucked…Republicans suck” kind of rants tells me he’s either never served or he’s exaggerating his service to get more sales of his knives.

I'd like to nail this guy, but without a current street address and with a common name like that,I can't be sure of anything I'd get back from the NPRC. Funny thing is, when I try to ask for that information, folks figure out who I am and dodge me. If I understand the meaning of that sentence correctly, it suggests that there is somewhat being hidden wrt this Jim Adams.

From the POV of this life-long civilian, there are two types of Stolen Valor:

* The "traditional" variety is the poser receiving unearned respect;

* The twisted modern (since the late 60?) is the phony "voluntarily-confessing" slanderer of good men.

Whether poser or slanderer, such disgust me.
