A primitive gets a job.
As usual, a great read, this one from the artful Charles Henrickson.

I never understood why people think manual labor jobs are worth so much less, as they take so much more out of you than mental work. But then, I've always been a bit Socialist. . . .
[What a surprise! A Socialist in DUmmieland!] [/quote]
Interesting that in the fields of work I have done for 40 years it is the people that do manual work, what with over time, do in fact make as much if not more then the college educated office personal.
A 2 year degree in accounting starts at about $25-$30 a year. Manual labor with over time can bring in $35,00 a year or more to start.
It all depends on the hours one is willing to work, 10-12 hours a day 6 days a week, very good money, 20 hours of over time at time and a half, Yippie.
Manual labor with no over time stinks, but it will pay the bills.
First question in production work the Temps ask is, " Is there overtime.?"
You only have to look at the cars and trucks in the parking lot of a factory to tell about the wages paid. If there are 100 cars in the lot and 3 junkers, good pay. If one sees more then 30 older rattle traps out there, forget it.
