It's an insult to those suffering the real injuries. **** them.
I've mentioned before that I've never served in the military (including the USCG). Neither have I served in police or fire. I respect those who have (which means I view those who are abusive in that service as betraying something honorable, verging on sacred), especially those who have served under hellish circumstances. "Hellish circumstances" would be combat and combat environment, and tragedies such as 9/11. When such people speak of PTSD, when they have service animals, I respect that, totally.
People who talk about the lingering effects of a terrible childhood or a car accident as PTSD cheapen the service and valor of military and civil service people. It's not that those effects of more ordinary suffering or shock is unreal. But that suffering and/or shock is not analogous, is far from similar in proportion. The effects of a bad childhood (mine was not exactly rosy) are not PTSD! And some freaking
rat-on-a-string purse dog is not a service animal!
Libs & Progs have made cheapening real serious things - like racism, misogyny, terrorism, or PTSD - a cottage industry. While I think it is mostly narcissism - Me!
Me!
Me!
Me!
Me! - mixed with political opportunism, I think Libs & Progs have a special hatred for honorable people and institutions. Therefore Libs & Progs love cheapening and trivializing the valor of people who have served in the military or in police and fire.
