BEST sportscasters ever...

In honor of Mr. Madden's retirement (and to balance the WORST sportscaster thread)...

In no particular order (add or debate your choices):

Vin Scully (yeah, he's a Dodger, but damn he's good)
Curt Gowdy
Keith Jackson
Al Michaels (how he doesn't beat Olberman senseless every Sunday is beyond me)
Chick Hearn (RIP, Chick--the jello's jiggling)
Mel Allen
Jerry Remy (okay, okay, I admit--he's won me over to TOLERATE Sox games)
Dick Enberg (former Angels announcer)
Jim McKay
Joe Garagiola

Discuss.

Since I'm partial to the Mets . . .

Gary Cohen
Ron Darling (who has won two Emmys in the last two years)
Ralph Kiner
Vin Scully
The Phillies and NFL Films guy whoes name escapes me at the moment--RIP
Bob Uecker (sp?)
Al Michaels ("Do you believe in miracles?  YES!!")
Dick Vitale
Darrell Waltrip

and, of course, John Madden.  The NASCAR on Fox crew had a tribute to him last night during the race from Phoenix (which was won by a 50-year-old driver!), which was a nice touch.

Chase her.
Chase her even when she's yours.
That's the only way you'll be assured to never lose her.

Dizzy Dean was one of my favorites. Dizzy and John could turn a boring game into one that was worth watching and listening to.
