DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Obama spoke to about 70 people at the home of Jeff and Sandy Clubb. It’s the third "backyard discussion" he’s held in two days as he tries to convince Americans to keep Democrats in power.

Obama defended the health care bill he signed in March, saying neither it, nor the stimulus package nor the automotive industry bailout last year was responsible for the size of the federal deficit to the extent that (Bush) tax cuts were.

He was challenged by a Des Moines manufacturing company owner, who described allowing expiration of the tax cut for families earning $250,000 or more a year, including small businesses, as “strangling the engine that does create the jobs.”

“Yeah, there’s a lot of wealth, but it’s trapped in the buildings … inventory and accounts receivable,” David Greenspon, president of Competitive Edge advertising, told Obama.

Senate Democrats have postponed action on Obama’s proposal until after the Nov. 2 election. House Democratic leaders have suggested members may still vote this week before leaving Washington to campaign.

Jayzus, how many lies did the DemonRats tell about the Insurance Reform law?  Enough so that none of them are willing to campaign on it.

Was talking with a friend of mine this morning (our kids go to the same school, and were in the same class last year) who works for HR Block.  One of the things that's going to increase the piss-off out among the great un-washed out here is that one of the adjustments to the credit and banking laws the Dhimmi'Rats orchestrated this year, makes it a lot tougher for places like HR Block or Jackson Hewitt to issue advance checks (loans) against a tax refund.  If you do this, expect your credit rating to become involved, as well as a number of other previously unnecessary elements.

When they have a "Americas Biggest Liar" reality show, he's sure to win.

I guess they shouldn't put amateurs up against pros like him.

the backyard barbecue/neighborhood discussion thing is backfiring on the obamites.  silly, stupid, dirty little middle class commoners.  they aren't blindly believing everything they are told anymore.
