makes in an hour. The article linked below says analysts are predicting gasoline to go as high as $10 a gallon by next year. That means that a person working 8 hours a day at minimum wage would have to work almost two days just to fill up an automobile with a 15 gallon gas tank ONE TIME.

Hey Republicans---if this is OK with you, go ahead and vote for McCain and the other Repukes. Check your wallets and see if there is more or less there than there was when idiot-boy took office, and if you're OK with the way the economy is going---keep voting Republican, but don't bitch and moan about gas and food prices, and the depression we're headed for---BECAUSE YOU ARE GETTING WHAT YOU DESERVE---pricks.

Hey stupid - seems to me that the only ones whining about gas and food prices and depression and wallowing in their self-pity are you asshats over there at the DUmp.  You ****ers have had a majority Congress for over a year and haven't done shit about gas prices - what makes you think electing TheBarackStar or Hillbilly Clinton is going to make things any better?

Look again, but change the timeline.  Compare your wallet now to your wallet before the dims too Congress.  Compare gas prices for the same period.

It is the dimocrat Congress that is causing all this misery.

I'm sorry, but I'll have to side with the dummies on this. The cost of gas at this point is indeed high enough to make us rethink anything that we do that involves driving for leisure. I've got to believe that some folks on this point, you have a place where the gas price makes a dent on you, especially when you figure in how it affects the prices of other things like food. The only thing I can see being had for cheap right now are travel necessities like hotel rooms and such. I can't imagine that most are filled as they normally might have been at one time.

I'm going to gut the prices out to take a trip to my dad's house in Florida, but only if my mother can go with me and split the gas costs. And even then we can only do it because we'll be staying at my dad's house for 2 weeks so the cost of a hotel is cut out completely.

I do have to feel with teens and such who occupy min. wage positions. I mean, I remember being a teenager and 3.50 a gallon gas would have hurt...I can't imagine much higher! LOL

In 2006 America voted for change. What change they did not know.

This is the change the democrat majorities in congress have brought:

1. Unemployment is up 10% (4.6%-5.1%)

2. Gas is up 45%. (I remember that Pelosi had a plan for making gas cheaper than the $2.36 it was, guess telling the world that we refuse to drill for our own oil was it).

3. The stock market is down 22%. Guess telling investors that you will increase taxes on their investment might make them sell or walk away.

4. Foreclosures are way up. Guess telling investors that you will increase taxes on their investment might make them sell or walk away.

5. Budget deficit is 250% more.

6. Taxes for the lowest income payers will rise 50%.

The really bad news is that the democrat presidential candidates are going to bring us more CHANGE.  Liberal change is never for the better.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I'm sorry, but I'll have to side with the dummies on this.

Then you are wrong.  It isn't Republicans who have kept this nation at the mercy of foreign oil.  It isn't Republicans who throw a hissy fit every time a American drill bit aims towards the earth.  It isn't Republicans who have been trying their damn best to get gasoline up to the five dollar and above range for the last twenty years (of course, the democrats wanted to do it with taxes).

the female who stole the governer's mansion in 2004 slapped us with a 50 cent per gallone tax hike as soon as she landed on the door step.

her leftie legislators helped her pass it .. i really dont want to hear liberals bitching about the people THEY put in office or the amount of oil they refuse to let the US drill for in this country. maybe it needs to get this bad (or worse) before people wise up and realize who's doing the gouging here.

"Analysts say"?  I heard on the news last night that someone was predicting $7/gal gas by 2012, now this one predicts $10/gal gas by next year?  Both of those people are off their flipping rockers.

You are correct.  There is a saturation point in all aspects of economics.  This gasoline pricing situation will soon reach that point.  People will park their cars and say "to hell with it".  That will be the day tax revenue will be threatened and it will be decided something must be done.

The American voting and driving public have a lot more power over this situation than anyone involved wants to admit.

Its already happening with the truckers. Today 100 truck drivers went to DC to protest the price of Diesel.  Iremember some dumbass over at CU trying to tell me that wouldn't happen or that they wouldn't strike to make it happen. I guess we know who was right. The trucking industry has the biggest impact on how much gas is used day to day. If they can't make money then they are not working. Its a simple concept that seemed to have slipped that tool over at CU.

H5 #2!  While the peanut farmer was in office, he stated "the US will not be held hostage to foreign oil again". All of those wonderful ideas were cast aside by a Democratic Congress when the supply returned to normalcy and the price dropped like a rock. These assholes in Congress did not bail out the Wildcatters in this country. They just went under. The morons in DC can subsidize the alternative fuel crowd but want to sock it to the oil companies with higher taxes. Does not good sense to me. Along with that, liberals portray the oil companies as evil, don't want new drilling, don't want new refineries or nuke plants; all they want to do is to blame the oil companies for making too much money and tax them to the hilt.

T. Boone Pickens says he thinks oil is going to go to $125 a barrel but then settle back to the high $80's to low $90's by the end of summer.  So much speculation out there, but we'll see.

I have been...the key is to be organized and pay attention to what you get, but still, if something bleeps up, at that point that is the stores fault for not properly entering sku/coupon bar codes. I won't mention if they are not staffed properly too. I don't apologize for store errors or inefficiencies and normally those take the longest.

It's usually the people trying to get away with something and bringing coupons for crap they don't have who hold the lines up :thatsright: I've worked in one of these places...had a nice little homeschooling mom who constantly tried this crap. I'm sure there were lots of valuable lessons to her children about stealing and she'd bring them all(7) as a distraction.
