I don't know if you are asking me.  But I learned about them a few years ago on a late night HBO special.  At first I thought it was a put-on, but then I realized it was a real documentary.

But lately the furry thing is popping up (as it were) here.

You know, I kind of,sort of knew that furries and their ilk existed. And then I saw the CSI episode that delved into their little world. I had really blocked all of it out until the "Teh Furries are people 2!!!" thread.
