Oh and 30K people watching on the USTREAM is nothing to sneeze at, given there is absolutely NO MARKETING to this.

Saints preserve us, a few hippies aren't going to attend their advanced basket-weaving or Queer Theory classes...how will society survive?

From what I know of teacher's at Berkeley, they don't take attendance anyways.  Basically, these kids will just be shooting themselves in the foot when the Final comes around.

Why would dirty hippies strike from a dirty hippy school? You supposedly strike to show discontent over something. My guess is the teachers are encouraging this because they still get paid while the idiot, junior-league hippies still pay fully priced tuition to miss classes with no real-world relavance.

Their inflated sense of self-importance at play.  Same thing that is making all the basket-weaving majors protest their student loan debt, they never figured out they wouldn't step out of college into a job that paid more than their parents' mid-career salaries and are totally unprepared mentally to start at the bottom of anything.

Berkeley students are the ones who set up camp in some treetops to prevent construction of a new athletic building.

They eventually ran out of weed and descended. The trees were immediately removed and construction got underway.

Their strike will be as effective as their treetop tents.
