After thinking this over for many weeks and. . .
 . . .after nearly 9 years as a DU member, I have decided to permanently call it quits. I am bidding farewell to the people whom I have most in common; those who have been shunned and confined to express themselves at the Obama forum. Gone are the days of freedom to express opinion and support democrats without the fear of being attacked and schooled on Obama's policies.

GD and GDP have become a haven for idiots; an institution run by inmates who are hateful, mean and ignorant and have no real understanding about how US government works. I can no longer read any more drivel from people who spew false outrage with indignation and pretend that they really believed Obama was someone other than he claimed to be. DU sounds like FR or a teabaggers rally.

Neither can I tolerate the underhanded flame baiting threads--the polls designed to denigrate and bash a president who has been handed a giant bag of shit created and maintained by republicans and the people who cheer them on—people right here at DU. If Obama loses the next election, it will be because idiots on our side have divided us into factions. These are people who would rather drive home a point to prove that they are correct regardless of the bloody pulp they make of fellow posters. Saddest of all is that most of them know nothing about government or political process yet, they insist on offering advice and guidance to a president whom they voted for but now believe is evil and a liar.

For GW, it seems to be more a case of DU not being "My Obama, right or wrong" enough, than an actual Left vs. Center-Left divide.

This person can't be serious, Obama was handed an unemployment rate of what? 6%? and he turned it into 9.7%, although it's actually higher then that, and if Obama loses the next election it'll be because the moderates, the people who can't pick a side, the people who felt good with all the hopey changy rhetoric, the people who didn't vote for Obama because he was the best qualified, they voted for him because he was black and they wanted to say "see I voted for a black man so I'm not racist" and yes, I know 2 people who voted for that reason, if Obama loses it'll be because he doesn't know what to do when a crisis hits, and he's alienating those people. There's other reasons of course, but that's my anti-moderate rant right now.

I was actually stunned that people voted for him because he was black, call me naive, but until that time I really thought experience should matter, he did absolutely nothing in his past that would warrant him to become President. It never crossed my mind not to vote for Obama because he was black, I didn't vote for him because he was a leftist in moderate clothing, and the fact that he chose to surround himself with marxists and people like Jeremiah White totally turned me off, but people didn't want to hear that. Funny how they're both Glenn Beck fans now and anti-Obama.

I totally believe that! and it's just not whites angry at Obama, you have Hispanics and Asians suffering because of Obama, and the worst sufferers of all are the black community. I read a great story last night talking about middle class black flight from Detroit, that story was sad as heck, and the only thing annoying about the story was no mention of politics, I was hoping to read how the Democrats have destroyed Detroit, yet that wasn't discussed at all.
