The Sacramento Police Department says that Christopher Guzman went to Garcia Bend Park on Monday night, believing that he was meeting up with a 14-year-old girl he had met on a social networking website.

"This would've been the first physical contact between the suspect and the victim," said Sacramento Police Department Sgt. Norm Leong.

As Guzman waited in his car, police say five or six of the girl's family members walked up and began attacking him and his vehicle. Guzman tried to drive away, but the family members chased him, forced him out of his car and held him for police, who arrested Guzman but did not detain the relatives.

"(Guzman) was bloody from that," Sgt. Leong said. "We'll review it and see if what they did was reasonable given the circumstances in that they were trying to detain him."

Police said that Guzman was planning to videotape the young girl in a sex act.

many, (not here at DU) say Gays can change. Is there some form of disconnect there? I am in no way suggesting there is a connection to a gay life and a Sex offender other than the suggestion that one can change their sexual preference and the other can not..

He got exactly what he deserved and the police did exactly the right thing. Once innocence is gone no judge or jury can ever bring it back. Everyone did the right thing in this case except the pedophile himself and for him he should be spending the rest of his sorry assed life in a cell somewhere far away from society.

Good thing it wasn't me who went to meet this POS! My daughter was molested when she was 8, by a man I trusted to take care of her and her older brother. The only reason that piece of filth is still breathing is because my daughter begged me not to kill him. She knew I would go to jail!!!! She never even told me it happened until she was 15! She was sure I would kill the bastard!

To this day I'm sorry I didn't take that ****er fishin' for Great Whites! Granted there are no sharks in the lake out my front door, that we know of, but it is 1400 feet deep! Ya never know what might live down there. Could be Nessie!

Always wanted to make a video of him with his hands cuffed behind his back, sinking into the abyss!

Uh, anyone else have a problem with this family for allowing their daughter to converse with adult men on a social networking website? 

Something tells me that their precious daughter is anything but innocent, and while this devient deserved what he got, he clearly thought he was having sex with her so their conversations weren't exactly about Hannah Montana.

The judge should be biotchslapping these parents also.

Myspace and Facebook are both social networking websites.  Did the girl show poor judgement, yeah, but what teenager doesn't.  Teenagers in general think that they are more mature than they really are.  The fact that the family showed up to beat the guy up tells me that either the girl started feeling scared and told them, or somebody took a closer look at what she was doing online.  Either way, I bet her family monitors her internet use more closely now.

I have a few "trophies" that are just locked in my memory, doncha know! Little hard to serve a search warrant on that! Like when I stuck the .44 mag in his nose! He kinda made a puddle in the floor!

oops, can't seem to spell puddle the first time. Ended up looking to much like poodle! but that works too, now that I think about it!
