What does Google's search bar say about you?
« on: July 17, 2011, 02:19:12 PM »

Inspired by this entry from The Oatmeal, I decided to see what would come up when I typed my name in the search bar at Google without clicking Search.  The result?  "crash course".  It isn't even someone with the same name.  I have no idea what it means.

What is the first thing Google says about you?

Not a damn thing actually. The only thing that pops up is just my name.  :bawl:

You oughta feel honored, Chris.

What pops up is an alternate spelling of my first name and my last name, of course. And the first 8-10 entries reflect that alternate spelling. My stuff doesn't show up for awhile.  :rotf:
Adams E2 Euphonium, built in 2017
Boosey & Co. Imperial Euphonium, built in 1941
Edwards B454 bass trombone, built 2012
Bach Stradivarius 42OG tenor trombone, built 1992
Kanstul 33-T BBb tuba, built 2011
Fender Precision Bass Guitar, built ?

Nothing comes up for me either.  Not that common of a name and thankfully I haven't been tagged with anything too bad.

Last time I tried, the internet crashed.

Chris XXXXX: About 3,610,000 results.  Awesome.

I got 17,800,000. :)

The only thing that came up under my name was some football and baseball stuff from some kid.

What comes up for my middle names is far, far more awesome. I won't post it though...

Wait what? How does my username come into this? I thought I was supposed to search my actual name...I'm confused...

And my username was meant to be :-)

Back in 2003 I needed a username for an account I was making and I looked around my computer desk for inspiration. The Win XP sticker was beside the Compaq one and well...it stuck. And no I'm not joking, that's how it came to be.

I'm safe.

Only 106,000 results on a search of my name.

And the top fourteen pages at least, none of it's me.

Everything on the first page is wrong, except for my mom's death notice. I won't bother to look any more.

All kinds of famous and super smart people share my name! What happen to me?
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

Mine goes to my facebook, then my twitter.

Apparently, I am the only person in the US with my name.
