What Trump is really trying to say...?
"Yeah, I gave some secret information to my friends."
"But, if you are the President, you can 'de-classify' documents at any time. I 'de-classified' them before I gave them away. I had every right to do that."
"I did nothing wrong. It was a normal business transaction."
"It's a disgrace the way the FBI ransacked my home and treated my family."
"As President, I had every right to have possession of those documents. I could let whomever I wanted to see them."
"This is nothing but a "witch hunt" by the radical-left Democrats and the FBI."
"They know I have done nothing wrong."
"The country will not sit by and watch this happen."

A quote out of context is a pretext. For example, stringing together these quotes from the Bible:
"Judas went and hanged himself."
"Go thou and do likewise."
"What thou doest, do quickly"
The quotes are accurate, but they are from three different, unrelated, contexts. Stringing them together that way is an old joke about picking random Bible verses for guidance. kt strung together random single-sentence Trump (supposed) quotes dishonesty to "prove" Trump said something Trump neither said nor meant. It's the kind of dishonesty on which DU feeds and thrives.
