2012: Top DUmmie #10-a (demtenjeep)
« on: December 21, 2012, 06:34:27 PM »
Congratulations to demtenjeep, the #10-a DUmmie of 2012!

It’s too bad however she has to share the honors with two primitive nonentities, but that’s the way the people voted, and the people’s will is supreme, at least outside of Skins’s island.

It’s been a long road for Pamela, the demtenjeep primitive, who was first honored with the #12 Top DUmmie of 2007, after she soared to #05 Top DUmmie of 2008, and #01 Top DUmmie in 2009, but then she was utterly eclipsed by her fellow teacher from Kansas, the Die alte Sau in 2010 and the rather, uh, talkative oblate spheroid in 2011, two consecutive years in which she failed to show at all.

It’s good to see her back.

For background, here’s her number one honors from 2009:
http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,38484.0

However, caution; some of the information therein’s been rendered obsolete or shown to be in error, as the writer of the award at the time wasn’t intimately acquainted with Pamela.

One learns as time passes.

Pamela was sort of, well, disgusting this past year.  She’s afflicted with some sort of intestinal ailment one gets if one doesn’t dine upon enough fiber and roughage, and she managed to turn it into a terminal, life-ending, disease.

The eyes grew as big as saucers, as she bald-facedly alleged she was dying.

What was loathsome about it is that there are members of democraticunderground actually afflicted with terminal ailments, primitives who won’t be around much longer.  These were among the first to reach out to solace and comfort non-dying Pamela.

It was an Abomination.  She was mocking them.

There hardly seems anything more despicable, more barbaric, than making light of dying people, but of course those are the norms and standards of decent and civilized people.  Perhaps the primitives on Skins’s island have different standards, in which it’s okay to do that.

When I cast my very limited ballot for this year-end ceremony, I probably should have added demtenjeep as well.  This is likely a case where my honesty could get me in trouble, but I want to share this little anecdote here anyway.  Here goes....

It was, in fact, demtenjeep (Pam) under her previous DU name who alerted me to my #8 position in the 2009 "DUmmie" list.  She also started an account over on the McDougall boards at roughly the same time.  I had no idea I was even being discussed at length on another message board until she linked to posts here.  I may not even know now, if not for that.

The fact that she linked me over here was, at first, very upsetting due to the intense nature of the negativity directed towards Jeanette and I.  It's taken me time to come to grips with that, but in the end I feel that no matter what we are all human and should strive first and foremost to just try and harmonize on some level.  I guess maybe I owe Pam a debt of gratitude for helping me to mature as a person and develop a "thicker skin".

So, Pam and I exchanged some PM's, both on the DU and the McDougall boards, about the goings-on over here.  And ostensibly, she was trying to gain inroads as to how to improve her condition regarding her Crohn's Disease.  I was initially very happy to think that I had someone from the DU to also discuss the McDougall Plan with.

Only problem was, every time she would message me it was always about something over here.  It got tiring really quickly.  I don't think she ever asked me one question about food in general, or starches, or anything positive.  It was always about the latest post at the Cave, or how she got Skinner to set her up with a new account so that she wouldn't undergo any more "harassment".  We all know how that worked out.

Everyone here has their opinions about Pam, just as they do about me.  I have no problem with her now, and never really did other than how she seemed to almost be goading me with regards to here, but that passed quickly enough when I started refusing to discuss any of it and stuck to diet-related topics.  I am going to assume that she is just another person with a lot of health and personal issues who only wants to vent in a public forum, and that in some unknowable percentage of instances, the community here is being rather harsh.  It just disappoints me that my brief interaction with her was so centered on anything but health improvement.

Anyway, that's my two cents.  And my personal wish for Pam is that she can find improved health through diet, and inner peace.  If you read this, Pam, please know that I am available to help you in any way I can with information about diet.  And hell, maybe you should pull a me and actually spend some time here.  Don't worry about the detractors.  Not everyone here is mean-spirited and some of you guys are actually nice despite our political differences.

We tracked Pam to the McDougals site.

She was hiding from us by not posting on DU. She came back with a new moniker but with that same old writing style. She was easy to spot.

What I find most discouraging about all the links in her award post is that there is so much snark and outright malignant rhetoric from both "sides" in many of the discussions.  I was even guilty of some of that myself until I decided once and for all to just come over here and play it straight.  Referring to you as "the sow-lick", or calling the community at large here "Cave-F***s" is no better than racism, sexism, lookism or any other type of discrimination.  I did it for a while and I sincerely apologize for it.  But seeing some of what came from both the right and the left in some of those threads leaves me feeling kinda nauseous.  So much time and energy just tossed into the ether and wasted when there are surely better things to spend it on, and I've been as guilty as anyone.   :thatsright:

You obviously blind to the cesspool of rage and hate that DU has become. Our reaction is natural disgust to the worst of DU.

Try posting a positive picture of Christians or Jews at DU. Try supporting Israel's right to self defense.
Look right now at the sheer hate towards gun owners who have never committed a crime.
DU is a cesspool of hate and rage. Have you noticed the frenzied grave dancing whenever a conservative dies?

A year or two ago, some fired workers in India set fire to an executive and killed him. there were a multitude of threads quivering in orgasmic joy at the murder of a man who had nothing to do with the crime in question.

Death threats are common at DU, and even though they are scrubbed by Skinner, they have earned DU a place on the FBI's watch list for dangerous/seditious sites.

Kirk, the reason this forum exists is the insanity of DU. Yes there are contemptuous comments about the posters over there. But the people at DU of the worst haters on the net and they have earned all the contempt they get.

NO apologies from me.

Well, of course there's harsh rhetoric.

But it's not an even-handed 50-50 thing.

We can be a little bit nasty once in a while, but the primitives over on Skins's island are far nastier.

In fact, compared with the primitives, at our very worst, we look like Boy Scouts.

I agree with you in some sense. There are times it gets old especially when something that was a ok one day is suddenly verboten or made fun of the next because a liberal is doing it.

You irritate me because I have skin in the game having two very disabled people related to me. I recognize that help for them is diminished by people unwilling to work or do their best to achieve health to that end. As someone else said that pittance times a million frauds adds up. Judging by the fact you've stuck around I can't help but think in your heart of hearts you are thinking over the criticism along with the well wishes and that's a positive thing in my mind. Thats a place of growth that introspection for any of us. That you can see how tiresome throwing stones can be and weary of it. I get that too. Merry Christmas to you and Jeanette.

Good for you but remember that we do not scream that we are peaceful, tolerant, or loving like your side does. The DUmp proves the old adage that when you point one finger at me, three others point back at you. I would also point out that your side accuses our side of so many things we, I, have never thought of. This leads me to the deduction that your side would or has done those heinous actions. It isn't our side that is the "Ends justifies the means" party. In short, I know that our side is far more honest and your side is far more hateful and intolerant.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

What in the blue hell is "lookism?" I will assume it is discrimination based on the way someone looks? Thusly, it can really be filed under the category of "racism." You on the left have so many -isms, and other revferences such as GLBT with the added letters [abcdefg, etc] it's reallly confusing. Why not just use the whole damn alphabet to describe the sexual orientation of everyone from the left, because it's obvious you're all different in the perverse sense.

What in the blue hell is "lookism?" I will assume it is discrimination based on the way someone looks? Thusly, it can really be filed under the category of "racism." You on the left have so many -isms, and other revferences such as GLBT with the added letters [abcdefg, etc] it's reallly confusing. You are correct with regards to lookism, and in many industries it's obviously a huge issue.  As for other letters added to LGBT, I seem to remember being two other ones and there's no way I could remember them without cheating.  But to me, it would seem there's nothing any more wrong with wanting to be known as one of those other two letters than there is with me talking about being a Sicilian/Hungarian American.

Whats wrong with just being a person? Why all the need to categorize everyone into this group or that. This is what I find so irritating about you folks on the left. Why the need to do that? Low self esteem? Guilt over something? Uncomfortable with those different from you? It just always seems like you have to complicate things which are not complicated.

Kirk, I applaud you for coming here. You seem to be trying to get along with us, and seeing things through our POV.

I am the last person to adhere to progressive policies. It just boggles my mind why someone would want to a) agree with those policies that pure, unadulterated evil people like Stalin, Guevarra, Mao, Hitler, and Kim Jong Il subscribe to, and b) be part of the group of people who would knowingly and willingly pull the safety net out from those who truly need it.

As long as you're civil with me, expect the same.
