Welcome to the voting thread for the Top DUmmies of 2012!

There are awards given out to the twenty top DUmmies, culminating with the top award, the Top DUmmie of 2012, and three special awards.

Anyone is eligible to vote.

If one seeks guidance or insight, the nominating thread provides much information about individual primitives:

If one isn’t sure about the exact primitive screen name, or the primitive himself, it’s perfectly okay to inquire on this thread.  It’s also okay to “campaign” for one’s favorite primitives on this thread.

Voting is open until supper-time Wednesday evening, December 12; one may change one’s votes during this time, but such changes must be described as changes in votes.

Voting may be done here on this thread…..or, if one chooses to keep one’s votes private, it may be done in a g-mail to clarebootheluce@gmail.com.

If one is not a member of conservativecave, the private option is the only option available, but it’s an option.

Awards will be dispensed in ascending order, from bottom to top, beginning the afternoon of Christmas Eve, December 24, and continuing on through to the Top DUmmie of 2012 the afternoon of New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2012.

The "Steve", Omaha Steve.  It's only fitting the namesake of the award be given the first award.  Steve Dawes has shot himself in the foot so many times, it's a wonder he still has feet.

The "Rob", I'll go with no-it-all nadinbrzezinski, knowedgable of all things DUmmie, master of none.

Since I was late to the party on the nominations, I will now be early on the voting.

For the Willie: Alan Grayson. Through the miracle of redistricting, Alan "Dick" Grayson got himself elected to Congress again. That makes him one of the few DUmmies with a life outside the DUmp--which, I guess, qualifies him for the Willie. It is amusing whenever Ol' Guts has his staff post a form-letter appeal on the DUmp, asking for money. The gullible DUmmies actually think Mr. Grayson is talking to them and cares for them! Hee! Hee! What saps!

For the Steve: Omaha Steve. I never got into the whole Elect Steve Dawes thing, but this new award is named after Steve, after all, so he, Omaha Steve, aka Marginal of Omaha, ought to be the first honoree.

For the Rob: SidDithers. I nominated Sid, and now I will vote for him. He is one of The Bullies who hound Nadin from thread to thread (along with zappaman). I call them Nadin's Fanboys, the guys Nadin puts on her iggy list. SidDithers lampoons Nadin with real and often subtle wit, which usually goes right over the Know-it-all's bald head. Sid is one of the few DUmmies who can be intentionally FUnnie. Many are unintentionally FUnnie, Nads herself being the parade example. But El Sid can do FUnnie on purpose.

For the Top Ten DUmmies of 2012: It just so happens that ten of the nominees were featured prominently in my DUmmie FUnnies this year, so I will vote for them. Here they are, listed alphabetically, along with their DUFU-featured threads:

Okay, I get you now.

There's a flaw in the private voting system, however, where if one doesn't want to vote on this thread, one can vote by sending a message to clarebootheluce@gmail.com.  That's me, and I'm no expert on discerning the difference between a real e-mail and a fake e-mail, or the source of an e-mail.  I never bothered to learn; here on conservativecave, that's Chris_'s job, and he does it very well, and so I always figured, well, if Chris_ knows this stuff, no point in franksolich learning it too.

I do anticipate some funny business here-and-there with the private voting, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
