With more humor than sadness, over the recent holidays I've come to the startling realization.... I simply can't compete with a puppy!
I suppose its pretty darn understandable, I mean sheesh... even I want a puppy! If anyone wants to give me one
Yet, when asking my four year old niece if she wants to head out n' about for the day on adventures with me. Having her pause to consider:
Munchkin: "Can we bring the puppy?"
Me: "No, the puppy has to stay here."
Munchkin: "Well, do you have a puppy now too?"
(understandable question to ask, as both of my little sisters just picked up puppies)Me: "Nope."
With a pause of contemplation that would make Atlas himself proud....
Munchkin: "No... I think I should stay with the puppy."
