Now, I'm sure there's some primitive bonfires blazing away in anger and indignation, somewhere on Skins's island, but I wanted to break this, and so grabbed the first bonfire I saw, which is pretty mild:

Deal: Gregg fill-in would be a Republican

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama was poised to tap Republican Sen. Judd Gregg as his commerce secretary but officials cautioned yesterday the move would not deliver Democrats more firm dominance of the Senate as they had hoped.

Leading the pack to replace the fiscal conservative was his former chief of staff and a veteran of the Reagan White House, Bonnie Newman. Officials expect New Hampshire Gov. John Lynch, a Democrat, would name her to fill the final two years of Gregg's term. Newman would not seek the seat for a full term in 2010

...snip...

An administration official said last night the White House would worry about the Cabinet pick, not the politics.

"The President will choose the best person for the job, and if it's Sen. Gregg, then Gov. Lynch will have the sole responsibility for choosing his replacement," the official said on the condition of anonymity. .

1. It's no longer the Manchester Union Leader...it's now the New Hampshire Union Leader....that said it's still a right-wing rag that often publishes wishful thinking as news...Just sayin' it wouldn't be the first time they floated a trial balloon.

The "wishful thinking" on all the wire-services.

Shove that up your asses and smoke it, primitives.

5. Without a Dem to replace him its a waste!

No house votes, and Senate repubs vowing to defeat stimulus. Why not just take the 60th seat? How stupid not to?

Ha ha.

Ha ha.

Ha ha ha.

In one thread they rant the GOP is somehow obstructing them even though its numerically impossible.

In the next thread they bray that the GOP is collapsing and they should just charge ahead with their agenda and let the GOP hang itself.

In the thread after that bemoan the fact that a little sweet talking hasn't suddenly gotten the GOP to validate their idiotic little schemes.

But then in another thread they howl about how idiotic the scheme is sending all that money to corporate thieves.

Except when its opposed then suddenly the politically impotent have somehow conjured enough power to stymie bread and water deliveries to the San Francisco elite.

And its bad enough that they can't even distill what it is they want but they refuse to accept responsibility for any of it instead they gauge everything on how the GOP conducts itself.

I'm glad I'm a conservative...it's more relaxing.

I am also amazed that Obama and the DUmmies seem to think that a little sweet-talking by Obama should be all that's necessary to get republicans on board for this Pelosi-fest.

That's the whole problem with Obama and his supporters - talk doesn't solve problems.  The right actions for all the American people is what will solve the problems.

Cut the corporate tax rate in half.

But the Dimocraps, want "consensus". When they don't have it they whine like little children.

Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

And by consensus they mean lockstep group think.

And by bi-partisan they mean DO IT MY WAY!

"We won, we wrote the bill." former democrat socialist party member nancy pelosi

"I won. I will trump you on that." most liberal senator (all 14 months) and now first illegal president.

That just does not sound like reaching out with an olive branch to me.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I, for one, do not trust the Dem Gov to appoint a Rep to the Senate.

I'm sure the DUchebags would be OK with a republican governor filling in a democrat senate seat with a republican....right?

Yeah sure they would.
