Okay, I'm a little late to the party; a couple of hunters were here asking directions, and being the perfect host, I made sure to pour them some coffee too.

Anyway.

A few games now underway.

Indiana 0, Iowa 7, first quarter.

By the way, in case one isn't aware--but most seem to be--because I can't hear radio and don't do television, the internet scoreboards are the only way I know how a game's going.

Unless I'm in the presence of someone who's listening or watching, who tells me.

Which isn't the case this morning.

I have to wait to read the Sunday morning newspapers to learn what happened; in "real time," the internet scoreboards are the best I can do, for personal illumination.

And so if anyone has any details they think worth noting--and not only with the big games--feel free to comment.

OSU just "missed" a FG. It looked like it was just to the left of the right upright to me, though.

Whoa.

I'm glancing at the handy-dandy "Our Family" (an obscure grocery store brand) Guide to the Big 10, and it says the football coach at Iowa's the highest paid state employee in Iowa.

He's been there nine years, but hasn't exactly built a stellar record.

2006 6-7, 2-6 in the Big Ten
2007 6-6, 4-4 in the Big Ten
2008 9-4, 5-3 in the Big Ten
2009 11-2. 6-2 in the Big Ten
2010 8-5, 4-4 in the Big Ten

It's okay, but is it worth $3.65 million a year (not including bonuses)?

There  is no one on the field for Mizzou's defense that can cover Justin Blackmon. It is going to be a long day for them.
