The vote came just one day after the bill, introduced last week by House Speaker William O'Brien and Majority Leader D.J. Bettencourt, sailed out of the House Finance Committee.

The news media should make up their mind. A week or so ago they were saying we'd have $5 a gallon gas by summer. Today I heard a TV reporter say gas should be down by as much as 50 cent a gallon by summer.

A couple or three of years back Mr. Bush just mentioned drilling off shore and a short time later I was paying $1.65 a gallon. Gas is up over $2 from that now and I'm supposed to get excited about it might fall off 50 cent a gallon by summer.

The lowest I've seen gais is $3.74.  I paid $3.97ea for five gallons, enough to get to me to the cheap(er) gas station on the way to work tomorrow and through Friday (I hope).

I'm glad my car only holds 12 gallons.

My jalopy seems to cut out if it gets too low on fuel.  I may need a new fuel pump.

All this 2 cent, 3 cent, bullshit is asinine. When QE2 ends, as our dollar have been devalued, those idiots will be faced with two choices, initiate QE3, which devalues the dollar even more, or do nothing, which will cause societal breakdown because we can't afford just about ANYTHING. The reason our gas has gone up has NOTHING to do with supply and demand.

People, start looking at the BIG picture. I had a co-worker, an idiot...which is harsh because we're good friends, tell me he'll vote for Obama again based on how the DOW is doing. Really? The damn reason it's doing so well now is ALL hollow. It's the government pumping cash into the economy. He's a smart guy, an SME on a certain system, but he doesn't realize why the DOW is performing well? How about why gold is also performing well, when they generally oppose each other? Hell, BOTH are going up. Are Americans THIS stupid? Seriously?

Sadly, yes they are.  As long as they have their American Idol and Perky Katie tells them to remain calm and that all is well, they won't question it.

What Americans need is a swift kick in the dink.  Keep package sizes the same and raise the prices to reflect what's really going on.  Show them that inflation isn't down the road, it's ALREADY HERE.  That their 401(k) might be recovering now, but that paper gain won't mean shit when it takes a wheelbarrow full of dollars to buy a loaf of bread.

Gas has gone up again.  It was $3.64 a couple weeks ago... now it is $3.79 and up.

Gas and Diesel have all gone way down for us. The average prices are...

Regular 1.32/L or 4.93/G
Premium 1.38/L or 5.21/G
Diesel 1.21/L or 4.57/G

However the cheapest diesel in the province is 1.11/L or 4.19/G.

Obama announces steps to speed US oil production

Facing continued public unhappiness over gas prices, President Barack Obama is directing his administration to ramp up U.S. oil production by extending existing leases in the Gulf of Mexico and off Alaska's coast and holding more frequent lease sales in a federal petroleum reserve in Alaska.

Obama said Saturday that the measures "make good sense" and will help reduce U.S. consumption of imported oil in the long term. But he acknowledged anew that they won't help to immediately bring down gasoline prices topping $4 a gallon in many parts of the country.
