PLACERVILLE, CA - El Dorado County authorities are investigating the bludgeoning of live rabbits during an annual Orangevale church camping trip.

Pictures posted on the Regency Baptist Church website showed three live rabbits in a cage at a camping trip last summer at the Sly Park campground near Pollock Pines.  The rabbits were then shown hanging from strings after being killed.  Other photographs showed rabbit meat being barbecued.

The pictures were removed after News10 contacted church leadership to ask about the incident.

This is so funny, reminds me of MOM telling me about her class trip in 1936 from a small school in Mass. to Chicago.

She to this day shakes her head at the thinking of the  school administration that sent 17-18 year old kids to a Cattle slaughter house in Chicago. Most of her class were city kids and aghast at the experience.


It was said that the eating of rabbit meat was not the problem but how the rabbits were killed. 

Well if anyone of us had to kill for food without the help of a fire arm, how would you do it??


I remember when in a western state there were festivals that drew thousands of people for a BBQ of rabbit and what they called a Bunny Bopping contest.

So far I have heard no complaints about the Rattle Snake Round Up----No it does not taste like chicken.

Tell the truth! You haven't eaten Rattlesnake have you? Chicken is as close as anything to compare it to. I've eaten plenty!

Oh, and Rocky Mountain Oysters, ( calf balls for those unfamiliar with the term ), taste a helluva lot like prawns, just in case you're interested.
