Creepy movies that weren't meant to be creepy
« on: January 08, 2008, 05:55:07 PM »
Do you all have any movies that are creepy to you and just kinda give you the willies even if they are not horror or suspense movies?

I'll give you an example: Polar Express. The movie just creeps me out. I don't know what it is about it. The computerized version of real actors? The suspense that is a little intense for a kid's Christmas movie. The ghost hobo? The weird look of Santa and the elves? The fact that kids get on that train with someone they don't know...ugh, the whole thing just creeps me out and I thought it took too many diversions too.  My boys love it though. *shrug*

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (original, never saw the remake but Johnny Depp creeps me out by himself).
I can`t even explain why but the whole thing is disturbing to me for some reason.

anything by disney...
evil stepmoms, mom's dying, dad's letting step mom be cruel, critters dropping like flies
the man was sick sick sick
oh and Lassie movies..
my childhood was tortured and traumatic, thank goodness we only got one channel and were too poor to afford child psychologists or I might have been scarred for life!

Labyrinth.  I actually like the movie now, but when I saw it for the first time I was 6 and it really, really scared me  :(  Parts of it are still kind of creepy.

"A Devil's Tail".
NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

If you want to worship an orange pile of garbage with a reckless disregard for everything, get on down to Arbys & try our loaded curly fries.

Maybe the Disney folks had a cache of LSD?  It was legal back then.  And one of the characters turns into a sugar cube.

Hmmmmm.
