I picked the chargers over the colts, steelers over the ravens & the cards over the eagles...

but I lost on the vikings, titans  & falcons...

I've got the Cardinals beating the steelers in the SB ...

who's with me !!

Uh oh.

As much as it severely wounds and grieves the heart, John C., sir, we have to disagree on this one.

Uh oh.

As much as it severely wounds and grieves the heart, John C., sir, we have to disagree on this one.

cardinals weakness's in the playoffs:

NONE

steelers weakness's in the playoffs:
1. special teams :   their punter is TERRIBLE
2. kickoff coverage:  non existent
3.  offense: inconsistent , but good for a couple big plays
4. big ben sacked alot

now,  look at how  the steelers matched up against the 2 best offensive teams they faced this year:

#1: chargers
#2: colts

both  scored a combined 5 TD's on them & the colts won the game without ANY running game of their own & nowhere near as productive offense or defense as the cards currently have

even the Titans scored 31 points on the steelers & rushed for 150 yards

forget about reg. season records & forget about the steelers good defense that looks great because of their CRAPPY opponents all too often this year & the cardinals are CLEARLY the better team...

ask yourself, is the steelrs defense dominating enough w/ just  rushing 4 ??...the eagles wasn't & neither was the panthers w/ julius peppers ....

so then the steelres start to blitz 6-7 guys to try & shutdown the cards offense that is tearing them up, then BOOM, larry fitz, boldin or breaston light them up for 2-3 quick TD's ...

I don't see this 08 steelrs defense as dominating as the Giants last year, because the giants front 4 could not be  stopped, whereas the Steelers can & has  & the steelers  will then hvae to leave Fitzgerald on single coverage &/or breaston, boldin or  urbin uncovered to get to warner...

don't forget , kurt warner has been to 2 SB's, won 1 of them & been MVP 2x ...

the ravens pathetic offense w/ a rookie QB from delaware  scored 2 TD's on the steelers D in a CLOSE AFC championship...imagine what kurt warner & fitzgerald wil ldo to them...

I honestly think the cards could blow them out, cause I honestly think this steelers team is a hair overrated & does not matchup well against the CARDS...

JCC put down the crack pipe. The cards D is their weak point. We scored 73 points on them in two games. If not for Jimmy johnson not double teaming Fitz the Eagles would be in the SB

and you lost the game that counted Lars...

nuff said...

pitts is a joke...

they wouldn't be in the SB this year if Tom Brady didn't go down &/or if the colts, jags, titans & chargers didn't have meltdowns...

the steelers defense carries them & they are very good...but they are not great...

I've watched the Pats under two different HC's & dozens of different players, light this steelers D up for 15 years straight...

take away the steelers playing marshmallow teams  4 times per year  in their own division(browns, bengals)  & they are  as good as the eagles perenially & thats a hair above 500 ....

pitts punter will either have a botched kick or he'll give the cards at least 1 great runback  & great field position the whole day long...

this ain't the 1970's & gone are the days the steelers can get away w/ having baffoons on special teams & win a SB ...

the eagles offense was the number two ranked offense in the NFC & I think #3 or 4 in the NFL ..

the ravens offense  was around 15th or so & they scored 2 TD's on the steelers D in the AFC championship during realtime, not garbage time like the majority of scoring the eagles laid on the Cards ...

the panthers offense was  one of THE best in the NFL & the Cards picked them 5 times & held them to nearly a shutout...

the only team the supposedly great steelers D nearly held to a shutout , was the  browns....

the chargers scored 24 points on the STeelrs D just 2 weeks ago, in 15 degre weather in pitts...

so I'll take the Cards defensive showings against the eagles & panthers as more impressive than the steelers D's  performances against the chargers & ravens ...

the Cards offense will be on the field for over 1/2 the game & big bens offense ain't built to comeback after being down by 2 TD's ...

cromartie will handle Santonio Holmes & Hines Ward is hurt,  the former eagles B. Hood will be able to cover him well & Adrian Wilson  is to the cards what Polamalu is to the Steelers......

the cards running game is BETTER than the steelers too ...

steelers= overrated

My guess is the Steelers win there will be a plethora of excuses as to why they did, ranging from poor officiating to the weather.  Same act, different team with this kook.  Stand by to hear all the  :bawl:  reasons.

I have no idea what the hell the cardinals are doing in the super bowl.  I swear, the NFL needs a BCS system. :-)

the Giants went 10-6 last year & won it...

the Cards are 9-7 & look better  right now than the giants ever did  ...

the Cards beat the eagles , the Giants didn't ...

the  NFL  playoff system is by far more  accurate than the crooked BCS, who just picks the largest schools (ie: most money) & the teams they think are the best to represent the post season ...

... and sometimes the best QB in the NFL gets a cheap shot taken at his knee, laying the field for lesser teams to rise up and try their shot at the SB.

There should be an * after the name of the team who wins it this year, with notation "dude, this year really sucked all the way around."

Are you talking about what the Steelers did to "my" Bengals and Carson Palmer a few years back? (leading to Pitt robbing my Seahawks of superbowl glory in Superbowl # refs have heads up ass)

I with you as far as rooting for em goes.

That has much to do with my hatred of the steelers as anything else though. (btw- how are ya JCC! lol welcome back to the CC sports thread)

Mostly I just wanna see a seven loss NFC West team hoist the Lombardi trophy and see what the "parody police" think about what they have wrought in bringing socialism to the NFL.

Never mind me... I'm in a mood...  :evillaugh:

hey steel... how you doing !!

yeah, the NFL's socialism works great for them...

no competition

no taxes

tax payer funded stadiums (cept for the mighty PATS) ...

I will have to say, this years playoffs were a bit more exciting than recent years....

and I don't hate the steelers, I'm just kinda sickened they get held up as elite when they have CHEATED more than any team in NFL history (all 4 SB's in 70's being that they were juiced up when other teams weren't), whereas my pats gets beatdown because of a stupid video camera....

this 08's steelers team is close to being the worst 'team' I've seen possibly win a SB since the 00 ravens, who were actually  ALOT better than this 08's steelers team ..
