Hi,
Don't know if anyone saw this last night but it really upset me. I wrote my congressmen today and told them to get them shut down, screw the ACLU etc. it does not take a genius to figure out what they are doing.
I talked to a friend of mine today about this and he said actually all they have to do is declare open season on them. Not such a bad idea when you think about it.

The basic problem is that using laws to shut them down just because they are assholes would produce a set of laws that could all too easily be turned on anyone else not in lockstep with the government. Best approach is to actually catch them doing something actually illegal instead of relying on thought crime. For my two cents, supporting jihad while we are at war against jihadis, and with all sorts of fatwas against us that the jihadis around the world take seriously, that right there ought to be treason for the ones who are citizens, and for those who are not, a basis to ship their asses out for places they can play with us on the two-way range if they have the stones for it.

DAT, I agree with you, but with the Obamessiah's first television interview being with al-Arabiya (sp?) TV, what do you think that he will do about it? One of those camps is two hours from here (home). An hour and a half from where I work. The Northeast Intelligence Network, for all of their questionable alerts, nailed this one in 2006.
I think that the Obamessiah will do nothing anout them--even after they are implicated in the next attack.

While I know you are right, I would hope they have spy satellites etc. closely monitoring the situation, plus a lot of phone conversations being monitored. All they have to do is see one automatic weapon being fired and they have cause to issue a search warrant.
Hey, I know some good ole boys in south Georgia who probably wouldn't need too much encouragement.

I got done watching Glenn Beck and told my wife tonight I would be more than willing to go down to Texas and help guard the border...for free. Heck I am close to 70 years old and I would rather die doing some good for my country than in some doggone nursing home with a cathether hanging off my body. It is really getting to the point that I see a lot of folks are really upset.

Possessing an automatic weapon isn't necessarily grounds for a search warrant. They ARE legal to own in most states provided one has paid for the tax stamp. That said, illegally manufactured or altered automatic weapons can be big trouble for anybody, a la David Koresh & Waco.

You have proof that illegally modified or manufacutured weapons were found at Waco?
I don't want to totally derail the thread, but what went down at Waco was a goverment FUBAR from start to finish IMO.

I still feel like an unindited co-conspirator for egging Dutch on and, I think, chasing away a pretty decent-seeming serviceman who would be posting if we didn't don our 5-YO pants. *sigh*

rich, I won't get into the Waco debacle with you, but at least there was the child abuse allegation and then the automatic weapons allegation. More what I was trying to say was that automatic weapons are legal to own in many states, provided one has the cash to own them.

I lived in Austin when the Waco thing went down. That day I had a flight from Austin to Dallas and you could clearly see the fires fom the air and I wondered what it was all about.
To me Waco was not a whole lot different from when that religious cult leader Jones or someone had everyone poison themselves. They had a whole, very illegal and wierd community, that was on the government dole in the compound. I don't care who came in to investigate, etc. what went down would have likely happened.
The compound was one big CF and the operation turned out to be the same thing.

The guy from the CAN was on the Dennis Miller radio show last week promoting his documentary. He said this group is not classified by the fed govt as a terrorist group, so they are not even on the radar. Glad to see this is getting more exposure now.

The DOJ has always been strangely silent about that, you would think it would be pretty easy to identify actual illegal weapons in the burnt wreckage, being as how the incriminating bits are all steel, wouldn't you? I've needled a couple of friends in DOJ about this trying to get a rise out of them over the years (FWIW, people with no personal stake in that debacle), but they always seem to want to change the subject and look at interesting stuff elsewhere in the room when I do that...
