Name changes and political connections: Colorado shooter story gets even weirder

Quote
Just who is Anderson Lee Aldrich, the suspected mass murderer of the shooting spree in Colorado Springs?

For one thing, he’s not actually Anderson Lee Aldrich, or at least he wasn’t until relatively recently. His background contains an interesting connection or two to politics, crime, and an online persona or two. And all of this raises even more questions about the decision not to prosecute him last year (From a WashPost article):

Quote
Years before he allegedly walked into a Colorado LGBTQ bar with an assault-style rifle, the man now known as Anderson Lee Aldrich had a different name, and a tumultuous past.

Until age 15, he was known as Nicholas Brink, living in San Antonio, public records show. His parents separated when he was a toddler, and when he was 12, his mother, Laura Voepel, was arrested for suspected arson, according to court documents. She was later found guilty of a lesser offense in connection with the same incident.

At age 15, he became the target of a particularly vicious bout of online bullying in which insulting accusations were posted to a website, along with his name, photos and online aliases, according to a review of the site by The Washington Post. At some point, a YouTube account was created under his name, featuring a crude, profanity-laden animation under the title, “Asian homosexual gets molested.”

For unstated reasons, just before his 16th birthday, the young man petitioned a Texas court — with two of his grandparents’ names on the document — to legally change his entire name. His mother’s name did not appear on the petition.

1. Fatherless home.

2. Mother convicted of a serious misdemeanor or a felony.

3. Bullied.

A screwed up family life does not guarantee a child will become a criminal adult, nor does being bullied, but the risk is much increased. A screwed up family life and being bullied in no way excuse or mitigate murdering people.

4. a. That the name change petition was probably in the paternal grandparents' name rather than his mother's and (probably) his maternal grandparents was probably to make it harder for at least some bullies to find him.

4. b. While media people are trying to tie what he did to his California maternal grandparents - allegedly MAGA - "Aldrich" has lived his life half a continent away from them. The media's desperation to tie "Aldrich" to something/anything MAGA is almost comical.

Insane Narrative Shift Occurs After Bombshell Revelation Q-Club Shooter Is ‘Non-Binary’

Man oh man, how things can change in a flash. For the last several days following the deadly mass shooting at an LGBT club in Colorado, the press and its leftwing allies have been railing against the right, suggesting that its opposition to the sexualization of children provoked the killings.

Far-left figures like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Chasten Buttigieg, and others have run the gambit, blaming everyone from Lauren Boebert to Tucker Carlson. And then, like a ton of bricks being tossed off a cliff, news dropped that the killer is “non-binary” and that he will go by “they/them” pronouns in his court filings and appearances.

How could that be? Nancy Pelosi had already pronounced “MAGA Republicans” as responsible for inciting the shooting. The White House had blamed a right-wing environment of “LGBT+ hate.” Then there was NBC News’ Ben Collins, who fancies himself a “misinformation reporter” (he should mean that literally, as you’ll see). He went on a rampage, accusing right-wing media, including Breitbart and Libs of TikTok for the heinous crime.

Quote
I talked this morning about an inflection point in this country right now, specifically for reporters:

What are you more afraid of? Being on Breitbart for saying that trans people deserve to be alive?

Or are you more afraid of waking up to the news of more dead people?

What was Collins to do with the news that the shooter wasn’t actually a Trump-loving, Tucker Carlson-watching Christian conservative? Well, he needed to shift the narrative, and he needed to do it fast. Instead of admitting his error, noting that he never should have jumped the gun, he quickly shifted to defending the shooter.

Quote
The Colorado Springs suspect was 15 when they requested a name change to Nick Brink.

Brink was subject to a "particularly vicious bout of online harassment," and had one YouTube video, a profanity-laden cartoon dubbed “Asian homosexual gets molested."

Don’t you see? Now that we know the shooter is part of a privileged class and doesn’t fit into the neat boxes the left loves to use to blame the right for every mass shooting, the killings are now the fault of online “edgelords” who supposedly made fun of the shooter. How very convenient, right?

According to Collins, the fact that this lunatic was bullied online seven years ago explains why he decided to shoot up a nightclub. It couldn’t be that the guy was just a mentally-ill nutjob who had kidnapped his family a year prior, never facing charges for some inexplicable reason. Instead, because Collins is so married to always blaming the right for everything, he’s now willing to defend a murderer in the process. It’s an incredible shift to witness happen in real-time.

Yeah, I've been following this one and just waiting to see what all comes out of it.  These politicians and 'journalists' who try to jump out in front of this stuff always end up with egg on their faces.

The problem with NBC Skews’ Ben Collins' re-crafted narrative (ignoring "requested a name change to Nick Brink") is that the name change happened 6 years ago, in a different state. I get (BTDTGTTS) that being bullied has lasting effects, but this shooting is widely separated from the bullying in time and geography. The connection Collins wants to believe is just not plausible, and the shooting's targets don't fit the narrative either..

The media so desperately wants to make every hate incident Ultra-Mega-Super MAGA related. I think it is Ben Shapiro who famously said the liberal demand for right-wing racism FAR exceeds the supply. And this is yet another case, along with the radical nudist who pulled out his hammer on Paul Pelosi, where automatically the left/media tries to smear the right before discovering any facts.

Yes sir. You’re absolutely correct.

Now that the truth is more-or-less out there (no thanks to the lame stream media), this "non-binary" cretin and his pronouns paint a much more realistic story than "bullying" ever could.

Especially 7-year-old bullying.

Every kid gets bullied once in a while. It's a part of being a kid.

Weeping and gnashing of teeth about bullying is just more theater in a victim wannabe's world.  :whatever:

I don't think you could cue Rod Serling, because he fled the set, https://nypost.com/2022/11/22/colorado-shooting-suspect-anderson-aldrichs-estranged-dad-is-an-ex-con-mma-fighter-turned-porn-star/

The dad spouted a bunch of weird stuff that was making the leftist rounds of "evil conservative hates alphabet soup people", like his first concern when he heard his son shot up a gay night club was that his son was gay.

So much fubar stuff all around this story.  But looks like it will fade away into just another statistic for the anti gun folks since that non-binary word got dropped in.
