Newbie Here
« on: February 14, 2013, 11:04:38 PM »
Hi all,
 Just a quick introduction.
I'm a young conservative who is sick and tired of watching our current leaders throw our country's future away.
I used to be a very active diarist on redstate, but since the latest makeover to redstate most of the community has moved on. So after a little searching for another forum, here I am.

Back in august or september they totally re-designed the website. In my opinion the new design really undermined the discussion part of redstate. Most of the diarists felt that way too, and slowly most of the us moved on. I still go on redstate, but it's just not what it used be. :(

This seems like a logical place to get started.

I'm Archie ("Arch"). From south-central Texas. About 90 outside of Houston.

We're practically neighbors ... in Texas dimensions. What's a 4 hour drive among friends?

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I found this place in an odd fashion. I was searching for home improvement help, and after being frustrated by not getting the answer I needed, I started typing various iterations of the key words. I found a useful post here at conservativecave.com . The helpful attitude in that forum was attractive.

I have been posting only a few days, and I have a question: What exactly is the purpose of the DUmpster? I find my self oddly attracted to it, like a train wreck or a violent cage match on television. The energy there is startling, but it's all negative energy. Yelling, cursing, insulting -- at people on another discussion board. Granted, the "DU" is a mess, and there are lots of misguided people there. But what's the attraction? Please don't interpret this as criticism, because it is not. I just want to know.
