2. Tulsi's air of serenity is deceptive, eh?
...
It seems tragic. Gabbard communicates well, she presents herself well. Her direct, minimalist rhetoric is refreshing. But, jeez, does she fall flat with her "regime change wars" repetitions. That's not the issue, Tulsi. The issue is the abandonment of the Kurds and the accompanying retreat from Kurdish territory with NO effort to keep the Kurds safe. This is awful. But all of it passes underneath Gabbard's nose without notice. Not good.
Sure, let's completely fracture NATO, help the PKA and PKK rip big chunks out of four countries, and get a bunch of US military guys killed and wounded for no clearly articulated end state.
The Kurds are brave and a great people, but our alliance with them was strictly to break ISIS and nothing more, and staying there is doing nothing positive for us, the stability of the region, or NATO. And while they're admirable fighters, their political orientation is less like a Western Captialist democracy than even Turkey's.
