Title: is this
Post by: franksolich on January 23, 2016, 09:25:09 PM
Is this legit?

This is like about the third time in a month, six weeks, I've gotten this, and of course I'm not saying "yes" until and unless an expert says so.

I use the standard Windows Defender and the Malwarebytes program.

Thanks.

No, it's not.

No, it's not.

Thanks.

It made me suspicious because it comes up only on the little itty-bitty local weather web-site that I use here.  A little tiny site that gets maybe 1,000 "hits" a day.

Your computer should be getting updates from Microsoft regularly.  There is no need to manually update your web browser.

You're using Windows 7.  ANY update notifications should be showing up as a flag on the taskbar next to the clock.

That url in the browser looks a bit suspect.

Well now, that's what I thought; if it was an update from Bill, it'd be automatically included whenever Microsoft itself decides to update, and tells one about it just as one's shutting down his computer.

The first time this notice sprung up, rather than "updating" it as suggested, I instead checked for Bill's real updates, to see if it might be included.  I don't recall I found any at the time; I was current, or up to date.

<<<dislikes updating, so does it only when Bill forces to.

By the way, this is Windows 10, the new one, not Windows 7.  Where do you get Windows 7 out of it?

I forgot what you were using.  I thought you mentioned Windows 7 at some point.

Whew.  I was worried since you'd know.

I was afraid after all the time and trouble of installing Windows 10, that it somehow might've reverted back, and I didn't know it.  Thanks.

I can't find ivohvbarefootcontessa.net on google, and I'm not gonna try going to it.
