This Election Like Being In Vietnam - Will We Ever Put Humpty Dumpty Back Together Again.

There is one about spending a year in Vietnam it is that you go through a kaleidoscope of emotions. You can go through periods of great hope and great despair like someone who is bipolar. This election feels that way in so many ways. It seems like the country and lives are being ripped to shred by hatred sowed and nourished by the GOP. And the outcome is truly in doubt.

I see broken and fragmented country. I see one party trying to piece it back together and I see another powerful force in the GOP doing everything in its power trying to smash the pieces to pieces. And I wonder if we can ever put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

If I could wish the GOP out of existence like a character hit by a phaser disintegrating on Star Trek I would do it in a heartbeat.

Bomber Over Bremerhaven

Years ago I wrote a metaphor that I sent to Frank Rich when Bush was president that I called "Economy Like A Bomber Over Bremerhaven". I told him that the Bush and GOP economy was like a B-17 that was struggling to get back to England that was so shot up it would eventually crash. The only thing left was to keep it flying as long as possible. The two of four engines were gone, fuel was leaking. The other two engines were in trouble with one on fire and the other fading. No instruments to speak of and most of the crew wounded. It was losing altitude." Well I was sadly right because the economy did crash in 2007 but it was kept secret by the GOP until the fact could not be ignored.

I would change that story. I can see that same bomber now but with a different twist. I could see a scenario where the pilot succeeds in stabilizing the last two engines and is getting the plane going well enough to make England so the plane can be repaired and restored. There is one problem some American fighters encounter this wounded duck. But instead of escorting it they shoot it down.

Well the flyers in those American planes are Republicans and the B-17 is a Democratic airship. The GOP is doing everything it can to cause a depression and intend to kill the country so it can be in power.

And if they succeed because they continue to sabotage all efforts to put people back to work, they will euthanize the patient so to speak. Their ideas and the Ryan budget are like strychnine. It is prescription for the ultimate death panel. And it will not discriminate it will economically kill GOP workers like everyone else.

What is worse the GOP will celebrate if they do succeed.

2. the real problem lies with the uber-rich.

they are the force behind all the destructive talk and legislation.

tax them to redistribute our wealth and then pass laws that keep them from ripping us off again. that is the only way to deal with the infighting created by our fighting over crumbs.

Or you could back your own bread you useless, lazy, greedy ****.

If you destroy wealth and pass laws to keep people from becoming wealthy what will you tax to redistribute for your own use?
