1. Let's not forget

That both of these bills had "strong" White House backing that never materialized. So, the administrations lack of pressure is also a part of the problem.

To me the term "strong backing" means sending White House arm twisters to do their job, but when the President's chief adviser is a DLC Democrat few bills that bring relief to the majority of the American people will get passed.

Billions of tax payer dollars went to GM now it looks as if they will be selling us cars made in China, while unemployment rises.

This is the kind of thing that will help the Repukes in 2010, if they ever get their shit together.

Don't worry; we're getting it together.

It's taking time, but we're getting it together.

3. He's a sitting President

That does give him a bit of power. If he says he's going to use it for something and doesn't, who should be blamed?

4. The Banks

Because trust, whatever pressure Obama put on the Senate to vote in favor of the people, The Banks pressure was 10 times harder.

They're definitely right about one thing.  Why should Chevy (or Ford) get a thin nickle of American taxpayer money to move their factory operations to China?  I'm a believer in free trade, but I believe we are taking it too far.  Other countries are not so foolish as to not protect their workers and their critical industries.

Except subsidies aren't free trade...so you're perfectly consistent in your principles.

Go for it.  Won't mean anything coming from the primitives, but it'll keep you on the computer and away from the general public.
