ALBANY, New York (Reuters) - New York Republicans will seek to impeach Gov. Eliot Spitzer if he does not resign within 48 hours after a report linking him to a prostitution ring, a spokesman for a leading assemblyman in the minority said on Tuesday.

"The governor has 48 hours to resign or articles of impeachment would be introduced," Josh Fitzpatrick, spokesman for Assembly Republican Minority Leader James Tedisco, told Reuters.

Bijou, both my wife and my mother-in-law work for the Assembly Republicans.  Trust me, the Speaker of the Assembly isn't . . . say, "conducive" to this sort of stuff.

First, Hillary Clinton will probably try to sue her way into the democrat nomination (selected, not elected), and now the democrat governor of the nation's third most populated state must resign or face sure impeachment.  This is too priceless.

What next?  Nancy Pelosi comes out and endorses John McCain?

Spitzmas!! Perfect!
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle
