In it, they talked of killing the president because the Mafia wanted to "get rid of" his brother, Attorney General Robert Kennedy.

Today they are being reported to be fakes.  It is said that several county district attorneys (through the ages) have known about the content of the safe.  Some reports say the content was stiffled due to racist overtones.  None of it makes too much sense.

Even proof of them  being fakes, and a cursory look at  the story is enough to raise many doubts, will not stem the tide of more and better conspiracy theories.
