At least 135 teachers and teachers’ aides have been arrested so far this year on child sex-related crimes in the U.S., ranging from child pornography to raping students.

An analysis conducted by Fox News Digital looked at local news stories week by week featuring arrests of teachers and teachers’ aides on child sex-related crimes in school districts across the country. Arrests that weren't publicized were not counted in the analysis, meaning the true number may well be higher.

The analysis found that at least 135 teachers and teachers’ aides have been arrested in 41 states between January 1 and May 13, which works out to about an arrest a day on average.

The vast majority of the arrested educators were men.

I firmly believe that, like cops, the vast majority of teachers (Mrs. E is a retired music teacher) truly want to engage their students, make a difference in their lives, and otherwise be a positive role model.

A very, very few are not wired that way, unfortunately, and when we read about these cretins we're conditioned to believe that the entire profession, like the cops, is bad.

Not so.

But when the bad eggs start to stink, the full might and fury of the law should come to bear. Where and when the unions start protecting those bad eggs, that's when the gloves come off.

I also believe that sexual predators are rare among teachers. Predators tend to seek out settings in which they have access to children, though having to go through ed school might be a taller hoop than many predators would want to leap through. I think the loosening of moral expectations for teachers in the 1960s and 1970s may have allowed into the profession more whose morality was looser and more "flexible" when it came to partners' ages. OTOH, data for sexual abuse before th70s or 80s is probably of lesser quality, so maybe predators were always there in similar percentages but things were more hush-hush.

"Rubber Rooms" are a proof - "a", not "the" - that teachers unions do not give a @#$% about children. There should be a place for a professional association that stands for high academic standards for its members and students, high moral standards for members, and working cooperatively with parents. Neither the teachers unions nor the PTA are that (undoubtedly, there are locals and local PTAs that are, more or less, but they seem to be exceptions rather than the norm).

I can't help but wonder how many of these involve students manipulating teachers.  I'm sure it's a small percentage, and it is unlikely that we can ever find that out, but some kids are just as amoral as the moonbats, with even lower critical thinking skills, and I don't doubt there are some who would have no problem putting their bodies on the line to cause problems. 

No, if the student initiates that does not excuse the teacher in any way shape or form.  Just a possible wrinkle in the story that would be interesting if some actual journalist could be found to do a deep dive into.

Teacher shortages have made those hoops much easier.  I'm pretty sure every state has some sort of alternative certification program.  The one in Texas that I went through (cause neither of my degrees are in education) was not that hard and did not take very long.  Just another wrinkle to consider.  Loosening of moral standards across the cultural board definitely comes into play, as well, on the teacher and student side of things.

This started popping up the other from some leftists on different social media sites.  It took a bit, since no one wanted to post a link, just the picture, but it's from February.  Not finding anything about convictions as of yet, so not ruling out false flags.  Oh, to be a basement dwelling keyboard commando and post all the pink/blue haired pronoun using pedo's getting fired and charged and convicted for the same stuff right back at them.
