Title: nominations for Top 10 DUmmies of 2008
Post by: franksolich on November 22, 2008, 08:17:15 AM
Mr. Wiggum and I haven't completed concrete plans yet, but I figure hey, it's time to get going on the Top 10 DUmmies of 2008.  I assume--and Mr. Wiggum can yell-and-scream at me if I've assumed wrongly--that this is going to be a multi-board event, the Top 10 DUmmies of 2008, that is, more than just here.

I'm going to use it to recruit from other places, such as freerepublic, as one has to become a member to nominate and to vote.

But time's running short, so let's get going.

This is for nominations only; one can nominate as many DUmmies or primitives as one wishes.

If I recall correctly, there's three threads involved--(a) this one, for nominations, (b) a second one, for votes (if one wishes to vote publicly, although there is the option of voting privately via personal message too), and then (c) the third thread, the masterpiece of Mr. Wiggum, with the winners of the Top 10 DUmmies of 2008.

This is for nominations only.

This year, all my nominations are for primitives I loathe.

In no particular order, but starting at the bottom of the cesspool, I nominate both the skumbag primitive, the IanDB1 primitive, and the dysmenopausal Kansas school teacher, the Proud2BLib primitive.

I'm adamantly, fervently, pro-life and all that, but to be bluntly honest, I wouldn't have minded it if their mothers, when pregnant with these two primitives, had fallen down the stairs or something.

Out of 6,000 primitives, these two drek primitives--the only drek primitives, period--are the only primitives towards whom I feel this way.

Going up one tier, to the bottom-of-the-barrel primitives, I nominate Doug's ex-wife, the sfexpat2000 primitive, the Bostonian Drunkard, the William Pitt primitive, the sparkling husband primitive, the Husb2Sparkly primitive, El Stupido Supremo aka Pedro Picasso, the Atman primitive, and the lying titty primitive, the TomInTib primitive.

There's plenty to loathe and detest about these bottom-of-the-barrel primitives, but they do have the redeeming social value of providing decent and civilized people with much amusement.

Going up one tier further, to the unterprimitiven, the lynch mob, the faceless amorphous blob that is 99% of all primitives on Skins's island, I couldn't think of one.

So up one more step, to the third-tier primitives, the rabble-rousers, I nominate the lonestarnut primitive, the lonestarnot primitive, Sitting Bull, the Redstone primitive, and the kaput primitive, the kpete primitive.

I'm still not convinced the kaput primitive isn't a mole, but there you have it.

Then among the second-tier primitives, primitives who demonstrate promise of growth and maturity, again, I couldn't think of one.  But I tend to like most second-tier primitives anyway.

No first-tier primitives.

No non-primitives, the highest tier on Skins's island.

Well, that's ten, and remember, one can nominate less than ten or more than ten.

I know, I know, I know--what about this primitive or that primitive?  What about the greenbriar primitive, what about the subway cat the undergroundpanther primitive, what about the Obamaite cali primitive, &c., &c., &c.?

Although loathesome, they didn't have what it takes, to make franksolich more than mildly dislike them.

I also thought about the Swanson TV dinner primitive, the DavidSwanson primitive, and about that one primitive who did that one thing with Sarah Palin's infant--the name of that primitive now having flittered away from the memory--but I think the ten I selected are more than enough to get this "nomination" thing started.

Have at it, and Mr. Wiggum is free to yell-and-scream at me if I jumped the gun.

That happens sometimes.

It saddens me that so many great ones have left the reservation.

I'm seriously thinking of offering "Name Removed" as one of my picks this year.

I'm voting for lonestarnut for the numero uno spot.  She beat Pitt at his own game.

There are a number of spring signups who've showed promise.  I'm hoping one of them might make at least the #10 spot and will have to go back through the posts to see which I would nominate.

It's all good.

The purpose of this thread is make others think of their favorite or non-favorite primitives.

There's the bobbling primitive, the bobbolink primitive, the American Nana primitive, the Nance Greggs primitive, the chin-challenged Lil Ava primitive, the Ava primitive, the freeloading bum wily primitive, the wiley50 primitive, the crooked tale primitive, the StraightStory primitive, for other examples, and so on and on.

Second-tier primitives might be a fertile field for nominations--the cboy4 primitive, the warped primitive, the Warpy primitive, the cuckoo primitive, the KoKo01 primitive, &c., &c., &c.--but as I personally like second-tier primitives, I'm not nominating them.  However, others are free to.

Does anyone remember who the primitive was, who devised that really lousy thing making fun of the Palin infant, and got mentioned by, I think, Michelle Malkin?  If I could've remembered his name, I would've nominated him too.

(The abovementioned are not nominations of mine; someone else if so inclined will have to nominate them.)

I nominate AD Bot this year for the number one spot.  The hilarity that it has caused has been side splitting :lmao:

Name removed showing their great acceptance of free speech. Kaput primitive kpete, for being such an asshole. IanDB1 as the most loathsem of the primitives.

lonestarnut for being such a douche.....................bobo primitive

How can we not have subway cat? It is one of the biggest hypocrites on any board anywhere.

Of course we can have the subway cat--and any and all primitives.

If I nominated 25 primitives, I imagine the subway cat would be on the list.

But so as to not hog things, I nominated only ten, and had to be selective.

I'm hoping we get at least 100 primitives nominated.

I believe the DUmmy who posted the "E-bay Palin infant prop" thread was Bob Weaver.  Certainly worthy of a nomination.  There is a screenshot either here or at CU, I don't recall which.

Frank, you were certainly not jumping the gun by getting this started.  The more discussion before the voting, the better.

Ideally, I'd like to have as many people as possible chime on with their votes.  Frank and I will be working together to compile the final list after the votes are tallied.  We'll also come up with the always entertaining year-end thread, chock-full of references, screenshots & links.

I'll get the discussion going at CU, and if anyone would like to let the folks at FR know, please do.

Octafish is just a name I've seen on Skins's island, and I never paid attention.

In a sentence or two, what makes the Octafish primitive distinctive?

This comes up every year.  There's just too much stupid to choose from, at least for me.

I'd put greenbriar somewhere around four or five.  I'll work on the rest of my list, I promise.

Oh.

I don't think I've ever been in the dungeon, which is probably fertile soil for DUmmies of 2008, but I am making progress.  Up until this year, even though I'd been watching the primitives on Skins's island since 2001, I never ventured outside "General Discussion."

I had this impression, along with, apparently, most of the primitives, that "General Discussion" is where it's at, where it's cool to be seen, where it's hip to hang around, and that all the other forums were, well, just soooooo uncool, unhip, untrendy.

But then when conservativecave was started, I began wandering into these other forums, so as to find material to build up the DUmpster here.  I haven't wandered very far yet, but I have wandered.  I just hadn't gotten to the dungeon yet.

I can't recall any particular bonfires, but it did seem to me the past year that the bitch from Baltimore's a classic textbook example of a bitch.

'faygokid', yes, but I can't recall much about this one or how its distinguished itself.

I want to add MrScorpio and HamdenRice to the possibilities list.  They were reliable in fanning the flames of white guilt during the primaries.

One will be able to vote either by posting publicly on the voting thread, or via personal message.

One will be able to vote for primitives not mentioned in this, the "nominations" thread; this thread was created mostly to encourage others to think about the DUmmies of 2008, and which ones stood out the most.

I'm still brainstorming but definitely greenbriar...she ALMOST reaches sexpat level of stupidity...almost. She has a job & steady income, a job that most likely puts her in daily contact with needy children. Yet to save a buck she somehow feels entitled to raid food banks that quite possibly could deprive children in her own classroom a hot meal. Amazingly enough, in spite of her lack of grocery money she manages to go on a cruise with her husband every frickin' year. He buys her lovely, expensive gifts. But if we're to believe the greedy harpy, this is a man who is abusive and an alcoholic. Still, she must not be too much in fear for her life since she managed to have a pseudo-affair with the cruise line's cabana boy.

Oh, and lets not forget, she's not just a great teacher, but a loving, concerned mother...well at least about how her daughter is affected by her husband's drinking. She's not concerned about whether getting food from a food bank she doesn't need sets a good example about honesty, empathy, and compassion. She's not concerned about the emotional impact of her running off with some guy she spent a few fleeting hours with on a cruise ship. No, not the cruise ship skank, she's worried that her husband might take his (justified) anger out on his daughter. She's a living, breathing example of liberal hypocrisy and hatred. And she's deliciously blind to it all. If I were married to her I'd slap her around once a week out of sheer principle. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised to find out she was Mrs. Sparkly. On a serious note, this is NOT the kind of person who should be in daily contact with children and if I lived in Kansas I'd pull my kid out and homeschool (ok, I'd homeschool no matter what) just so he wouldn't have to be exposed to her crap.

Response to Original message
15. Hospital spokesman Dr. Julius Hibbert said "A routine soul smear tested positive for pure evil."
Further tests are underway to confirm presence of a previously undetected soul.

LeftyMom has been on my 2008 nomination radar for quite a while and this post on another thread reminded me again. She's completely my polar opposite...the only thing we have in common is homeschooling...I've met very liberal homeschoolers before...my guess she's a radical unschooler. She's a pretty militant vegan (living on a farm with a variety of meat products walking around, I couldn't imagine letting all these delicious protein resources go to waste). Don't despair I was careful to make sure I thanked God and Norman the (previously frozen) Narragansett turkey who gave his life a couple of months ago so that I could enjoy a tasty dinner.

Still, LeftyMom does work, go to school and homeschool so she doesn't have the usual DUmmie issues that keep her from being a productive member of society. She seems overly concerned about gay issues for someone who thinks Joaquin Phoenix is a hunk, but she does live in CA where GLBT issues reign supreme.

The one thing that galls me is her obsessing over animal rights while not thinking twice about making comments like the one above. This compartmentalized compassion of the left is worthy of a sociological study. I mean, when it comes to animals, I'm a complete bleeding heart. I feed the squirrels and birds. I have dogs, cats, rabbits, goats, geese, ducks, and even chickens who are pets and will live out their entire natural lives here. They all live alongside and roam with those who are "livestock". Sophie Clucker may be the coolest chicken on the planet, but no matter how many times she enthusiastically runs to me and demands to be picked up, she's still going to spend her life outside with Gumbo, the Tublettes and other assorted food.

The whole vegan thing I don't get, especially when you have kids. Milk, cheese, and (especially eggs...the world's most perfect protein) are some of the best sources of protein for growing bodies to be found. It also shows a complete lack of brains on her part...it's one thing to not eat something because you don't like it and another to do it for a principle that doesn't even matter to the damned species you're trying to "save".

You'd think, being pro-choice, she'd side with the chickens. I mean, they have abortions every day...they lay their egg, get out of the nesting box, squawk a little to let the others know what she's done, and goes on about her merry way. Even my broody hens will only set at certain times of the year. So I wonder what people like LeftyMom would suggest we do with the eggs the hens won't set on (even if said hen could be convinced to set year round not all eggs will be fertile so they can't even qualify as chicken abortions). She won't eat eggs "on principle" yet she's perfectly willing to suck a human egg out of it's womb and let it die "on principle". And LefyMom is completely oblivious to the hypocrisy. Why am I not surprised?

I have to add  pcintern  to this list.  It claims to be a dentist and has written its share of bouncies regarding how it puts its Republican patients in their place while cleaning their teeth.

It mustn't have much of a dental practice as it seems to have a lot of time to post bouncies and can't hire a hygienist.

60. I am not ashmaed of being poor either
"I am not ashamed of being poor because I worked my butt off and contributed to the pot for many many years."

I don't "work my butt off" and have no intention or obligation to do so. For one thing, I hate work (for many of the reasons you outlined) and for another, I'm disabled anyway. Should I be ashamed of myself because I "contribute nothing" and have no intention of doing so? Most of America says yes.
I say no. And to me (and perhaps a few others), what I do contribute on a volunteer basis has far more worth than mindlessly flipping burgers would, anyway.

This idea that only the economically "hard-working" are "deserving" is one of the biggest things that perpetuates poverty, homelessness, classism, and all sorts of evils. It's really got to go.

There's only one DUmmy that stands out to me this year.  My nomination is based upon the degree of entertainment I experienced in reading their threads.

It's not the peter puffer who was whining about getting evicted - and not being able to get a new residence - because his pitcher was discovered to be a convicted sex offender who may or may not be keeping up with his registration/informing requirements.

It's not Sparkly's husband and his increasingly hostile and disjointed anti-rethug posts.  Nor is it Subway Kitty and her (longwinded) increasing disconnection from reality and venture into the realm of sociopathy.

My nomination for most entertaining DUmmy of the year has to go to none other than AdBot.

(If AdBot's already been nominated, consider this a seconding.)
