Cyrano (1000+ posts) Tue Jul-21-09 05:49 PMOriginal message So if the Dems don't pass "meaningful" health care reform, what then? After screaming, ranting and raving, do I vote for a Republican? Do I stay home at the next election? As much as I would despise the Democrats for not passing meaningful health care reform, exactly what would I do at the next election? I would do the only sane thing I can do. Not contribute one cent to any Dem's reelection. But would I vote for a Republican? Would I just sit out the election and not vote at all? Hell no. No matter how horrendous any Dem may be, he/she is far superior to any Republican thug who has learned a dance called the "goose step" -- marching in blind, unthinking lockstep with the despicable goals of their party.Perhaps trying to pull Dems together is like herding cats. But in this case, I prefer cats to obedient Republican sheep who have proved they are willing to follow the dictates of the unmitigated evil that their party is trying to push on us.As much as we may hate Dems for not being true to their principles, would anyone really want to see a rerun of the past eight Bush/Cheney years?Dems can often suck a lot. But they're crimes could be labeled opportunism at best and cowardice at worst. Unlike Republicans who have earned the label of fascists. So where do we go from here? Beats me. Any suggestions?

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site
