Selfish to the end I see. Many things have been said to comfort the dying that the person saying them knew a)wasn't happening(think of telling a dying soldier that the battle was won when it was not), b)knew they would or could not make good on, and/or c)was told in good faith but was not likely to happen. Generally people have more compassion for the dying, but these are dummies we are talking about here. Their only compassion for the dying seems to be if it can serve their ends of getting free healthcare, rides, meals, or homes.
I also would never presume to think of what I might say on my deathbed. For someone to say they would tell someone trying to convert them to **** off is pure and utter bs. Even the biggest pricks when it came to religion ended up begging God for mercy and forgiveness in the end and professing a belief in something. I don't think anyone can presume what they might be thinking or saying in their final hours.
