I was having a trip down memory lane earlier and remembered back to a trip I took a few years ago.

I drove a few hours to get somewhere that had a new track for an old snowmobile I had, but got there 10 minutes too late. They were closed. I sat in the car thinking for a couple minutes, and decided rather than driving home and coming back the next day, that I would just rent a room at the local hotel.

I rented the room for 50 something dollars and went to get some dinner. When I came back, I decided to see what was on the TV. I turned it on, and sat down on the bed. Fox news was the channel it was on. I grabbed the remote, to check and see what was on the movie channels. It was secured with something like this:



Thinking back on it now, I wonder if Doug Bulna visited that Hotel previous to my stay...

On edit: I wonder of the folks at Gearhart Chevrolet would get a kick out of it, if one of us were to send such a device to them, with the words "RE:Doug Bulna" on the package.  :lmao: :lmao:

That was fairly common in the 80s.

Also, some places gave you the remote when you checked in, and you returned it when you checked out.

(Which reminds me of a notorious No-Tell Motel in Ohio that allegedly handled bed linens the same way.)
