Somebody give me a lesson on Texas geography, please.

Baylor is in Houston, right?

And Texas Tech is out in the boondocks somewhere, right?

Arlington is a suburb of Dallas-Fort Worth, right?

So how come Baylor is the "home" team and the game is in Arlington?

Well, now, I'm confused.

I was always under the impression Mississippi was the better university, the more-prestigious one.

Depends on what you want to major in. Medicine and Business? Ole Miss. Farming and vet school? MISStake.

Ole Miss probably is a more prestigious university in terms of history. ....at least, IMO.  :evillaugh:

Baylor is in Waco...Central Texas. Closer to DFW than Lubbock, the home of Texas Tech.

Florida really bitch-slapped FSU. At halftime the score was 24-0. That's when I lost interest. I guess Tebow is pretty happy since this was the Gators' last home game with him QB'ing. The  37-10 final was a rout. The Gators stay unbeaten heading into next week's Southeastern Conference showdown against No. 2 Alabama.

Mutts just made us their bitch for the next year. Congrats USA4ME.

It was a tossup for me.  My Dad and brother went to State, but Ole Miss could have gotten a better bowl by winning.  Maybe it'll help State's recruiting.

Thanks for the information; I always thought Baylor was in Houston, but I must've been thinking of Rice.

By the way, what ever happened to Rice, after the breakup of the old Southwest Conference?

How come Rice, Houston, Southern Methodist, and Texas Christian weren't invited to join the Big 12?  I was getting ready to leave for the socialist paradises about the time "talks" went underway to form the Big 12--either that, or the Big 12 had just recently been formed--and wasn't paying attention.

Talk about blowouts.......

Rice and Houston last night - halftime Houston 59, Rice 0  Final  - Houston 73, Rice 14

1st quarter Houston scored 24, 2nd quarter they scored 35 - second half I went to bed.  This morning was surprised to see Rice had any points, and the score wasn't in the 100's for Houston - they must have gone home after the 3rd quarter.

Baylor got into the Big 12 because of a sweetheart deal brokered by Ann Richards & other prominent Baylor alums.

Rice, Houston, SMU & TCU initially all went to the WAC.  After a few years, the traditional powers BYU, Air Force & Utah didn't like the new 16-team league & started the Mountain West conference.  The aforementioned four from the old SWC decided to join Conference USA.  TCU eventually got invited back to join their "old" mates in the Mountain West.

That's the cliff's notes version.

Ahem, actually Univ. of Houston went to Conference USA and never went to the WAC.

Texas A&M and Texas don't want to be in same conference as UofH; messes up their main recruiting source:  Houston.
