5. Haters gonna hate.
Germans hated the same groups
Jews, homosexuals, POC.
Christians just can’t live with the fact that Jesus is a Jew. They have tried so hard make Jesus white.
The Insightful: Seriously, "Haters gonna hate," is about it. Like bullies, haters find something, anything - different about their chosen target and that becomes their reason for bullying and hatred. Religious Jewish people are different - dietary laws, the Sabbath, sometimes manner of dress, sometimes style of hair and beard - and different often leads to separation. Separation is the seedbed for misunderstanding, stereotypes, eventually bullying and hatred - whether antisemitism or DU's annual
Why I cut off my family ritual storytelling.
The Dumb: Jesus' Jewish ancestry and religious culture was always in what I was taught in church when I was growing up. Ironically, in the context of
LakeArenal comment, I grew up in a Lutheran church, specifically, a
German Lutheran church.
When I was growing up in the very late 50s and the 60s, our congregation did not have any "POC" members. That the congregation had only switched from German- to English-language services 20-25 years earlier probably had lingering effect. There was a black lady who visited the various churches in turn, and she was welcome when she visited. In the 70s a Hispanic young man married a young lady in the congregations and over a number of years became an elder.
LakeArenal needs to look inward and reflect on his/her, "Haters gonna hate," comment.
