« on: July 17, 2013, 11:01:54 AM »
What kinds of vehicles have you owned?

Mine were/are, in order (to the best of my recollection):

1930 Model A Ford pickup
1954 Mercury 4-door, 3 on the tree
1958 Chevy Impala convertible
1962 Chevy Biscayne
1968 Chevy Impala Station Wagon
1970 Toyota Station Wagon
1976 Chevy Chevette
1978 Ford LTD Station Wagon
1976 Ford LTD
1982 Chevy Impala
1982 Datsun Sentra
1986 Nissan Sentra
1997 Ford F-150 Pickup
1998 Toyota Corolla
1999 Nissan Station Wagon
2003 Honda CRV
2007 Honda Ridgeline

Geez. The $ we spent on cars......

I probably had the Buick the longest.  A pretty uneventful list.

1963 Ford Fairlane
1973 MG B
1982 Datsun 280ZX
1983 Datsun 280ZX
1986 Chevrolet Silverado
1987 BMW 325
1988 Volvo 240GL
1992 Buick Century
1995 Toyota Camry
1996 Toyota Camry

1986 Honda 250XL
1984 Honda Shadow 700C
1981 Honda CB750C

If I added all those up, it probably wouldn't come near the price of a new car.

edit:  I forgot one.  1959 Chevrolet Apache stepside pickup.  I didn't do anything with it... I ended up moving back to Tennessee a few months after I bought it and sold it for scrap. :(

I left off my wife's 1987 Toyota Camry. It got better mileage than any car since - 45+ MPG on trips from Chicago to Buffalo, NY.

And my 1988 Toyota Pickup

I tend to keep my cars a long time, unless they're pieces of shit that deserve to be shot to pieces with a .50 M2.

1962 Plymouth Valiant (pushbutton tranny, 225 slant six)
1962 Pontiac Catalina (389 with a 2bbl that INHALED gasoline)
1968 Pontiac Tempest (suspension shot to hell, it was a clunky 4-door powered by a buzzy 6OHC engine)
1973 Chevy Nova (307, my first muscle car  :rotf: )
1978 Chevy Nova (305, my muscle car wannabe that was a certified rust bucket  :lmao:)
1978 Olds Cutlass (I think - it had a diesel in it and TWO batteries)
1987 Ford Tempo (a nifty little car, ideal for Germany)
198X Ford Granada (? - German spec car)
1993 Ford Taurus wagon -- a bigger piece of shit has never existed
2000 Saturn LS (noisy, and the AC sucked, but a decent car up to 80K at which point I didn't trust it any more)
2004 Toyota Sienna minivan (my current car at 203K miles. Incredibly reliable, good on gas, roomy, and the best motor vehicle I've ever owned.)
Adams E2 Euphonium, built in 2017
Boosey & Co. Imperial Euphonium, built in 1941
Edwards B454 bass trombone, built 2012
Bach Stradivarius 42OG tenor trombone, built 1992
Kanstul 33-T BBb tuba, built 2011
Fender Precision Bass Guitar, built ?
Mouthpiece data provided on request.

A friend has a '49 Merc with a Chevy 350 engine.  It's pink with racing stripes. He calls it a COOL49.

That '56 Poncho was a nice car.

1953 Chevy coupe
1964 Ford Falcon Sprint V8
1967 Impala ss Red with white leather and a Delco 8 track reverb stereo, that was nice!
1968 Mustang fastback 302 V8 with the folding rear seat. I married that girl!
It was all downhill for hot rods from there!
A few crappy Corollas
1974 Toyota Hi-Lux  I put mags and wide tires on that.
1978 Pontiac Grand Prix
1978 Chevy pick up (for many years)

1985 Harley custom FXWG

Its funny, I forgot so many! I guess these were the memorable ones. If I had the first 4 I could probably retire!

It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."
