Weather Underground bomber unmasked — as city schoolteacher

Ronald Fliegelman built explosives for the Weather Underground, a far-left group that launched a domestic bombing campaign in the 1960s and ’70s, including one explosion inside NYPD headquarters.

But when the group dissolved, Fliegelman managed to safely fade away into the square life. For 25 years, he worked as a public special-education teacher, retiring to a quiet life in Park Slope, Brooklyn, according to “Days of Rage: America’s Radical Underground, the FBI, and the Forgotten Age of Revolutionary Violence” (Penguin Press).

“The myth, and this is always Bill Ayers’ line, is that Weather never set out to kill people, and it’s not true — we did,” group member Howie Machtinger tells Burrough. “You know, policemen were fair game.”

“Without him,” former Weatherman Brian Flanagan tells Burrough, “there would be no Weather Underground.”

Fox interviewed a victim of one of the weather underground's bombings.
He was 9 at the time, and at home with the rest of his family.
If any family member had been closer to where the device detonated, it would have been curtains for them.
The weather underground was so disappointed with their weak efforts on that bombing they went to the extreme on their next one.
It blew up the whole house where it was planted.
They were so inept, they couldn't get the results they wanted on their previous incompetent attempt.
The underground was ostensibly quite proud to defend themselves by saying no one (besides themselves) were ever hurt or killed by their bombings.
It wasn't for a lack of trying or a lack of will, or a lack of intent.
It was dumb luck and a learning curve about how to be good terrorist bombers that kept their record free from the harm of innocents.
Every single one of them should be rounded up and imprisoned for the rest of their natural lives for their multiple attempted murders.
They should start with owebuma's best friend and ghost author Bill Ayres.

The entire Weather Underground should of been liquidated and dumped into the Mariana Trench.
