They just can't seem to wrap their heads around the fact that DEI is, at its core, discriminatory. And it goes beyond that by acting like the damaged parties are somehow deserving of being discriminated against for various nebulous reasons.
So, let's make it so simple that even a DUmmy can understand it.
If a huge corporation had a very significant high-level position open and the CEO of the company came out publicly stating that only white males would be considered for that position, almost everyone would find that to be discriminatory. And the backlash against that corporation would be immense. And batches of civil suits would be filed and won.
But, when the President of the US employs DEI and publicly states that only black female candidates would be considered for an opening on the Supreme Court the left doesn't see that as discriminatory. Because...reasons.
And (politics aside) no matter how good, or bad, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson performs, she will always be known as a token black female. How exactly is that supposed to improve racial relations in America? What's the end game? Is there some level of parity that can be achieved that would satisfy the left? Do we need to push for more DEI in organizations such as the NBA, because supposedly diversity is this magic wand that automatically makes businesses better? Or maybe the best players, regardless of their color, should play in the NBA. And maybe companies should throw all this DEI BS into the trash bin and just hire the best candidates also. But you can't say that because equality is now a dirty word.
But at least Trump is trying to balance diversity with meritocracy. For example, one of his most trusted advisors, Elon Musk, is an African-American.
