Grammy winner James Taylor and Academy Award nominee Jeff Bridges will both perform (yeah, The Dude is a musician, too) at CarolinaFest in uptown. Ty Pennington, former “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” host, will build half a house at the festival. R&B man John Legend, right, and neo-soul hip-hoppers The Roots will perform at separate parties, at the NASCAR Hall of Fame and the Elder Gallery, respectively.


TUESDAY

Actress Amber Riley (Mercedes on Fox’s “Glee”) will sing the national anthem at Time Warner Cable Arena.
“CSI: New York” star Hill Harper and Golden Globe winner Alfre Woodard will host a political summit for students at Johnson C. Smith University.

WEDNESDAY

Jazz saxophonist Branford Marsalis does the national anthem at the arena.
Gabrielle Douglas, right, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman and Jordyn Wieber of the gold-medal-winning U.S. women’s gymnastics team will headline an event at Foundation for the Carolinas.

I've been to the NASCAR Hall of Fame.  If you have even a passing interest about NASCAR, GO SEE IT!  You won't be disappointed.

I wonder how long these DUmmie "performers" will be able to tolerate their surroundings at the H of F? 
To me, it would be similar to throwing holy water on and showing the cross to Dracula.   :lmao:

Frankly, considering their opinion of the flag and the men and women who have fought to protect the flag I find it both hypocritical and unethical for them to perform the Star-Spangled Banner at a dem convention.

I heard on the David Webb radio show that Wolf Blitzed wouldn't/didn't stand for both the "Pledge of Allegiance" AND the "National Anthem" at the RNC, until several of the delegates jumped his ass for not standing.

A bunch of rich 1%ers who don't represent the diversity of the American people, nor the average lives Americans lead. Where are the unemployed ? the students ? Occupy ? Where are the single parents, living paycheck to paycheck ? The immigrants, both documented and undocumented ?

James Taylor is probably the most famous name listed in that DU promo.  He's had many hit songs over the past five decades.  "Sweet Baby James"

Otherwise....

With the exception of one or two people, that article didn't actually say they would be at the DNC convention.

Sounds more like they're taking advantage of free publicity and traffic to make some money.

For your general information, Johnson C. Smith University is an all black university. There are other colleges in and around Charlotte but I guess they didn't want the hassel.....or there was some money to be made.

I'm more interested in the TV schedule that who's who. The major networks (ABC,NBC and CBS) broadcasted 30 minutes during prime time and then an hour recap in the late evening/early morning hours.

Jeff Bridges is one of the sons of actor Lloyd Bridges who is famous for his role in the TV series "Sea Hunt" and Movies like "Airplane" and "Hot Shots" and "Hot Shots: part duex. Jeff bridges has had roles in movies like Tron and "the Big Labowski ' And the recent remake of "True Grit".

I remember reading something years ago that in Moscow, the size of your living quarters was based on the size of you family. A married couple with no children couldn't live in a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment.

Hate to burst the DUmmies bubble, but Jeff Bridges was also at the RNC last week. He is the face of his favorite cause "childhood hunger". He was and is not playing to one party or the other. He is bringing attention to a cause that is important to him. Sucks to be a Dummie that can't include all the facts, but then again facts are to DUmmies as light is to vampires.
