Justin Bieber On Health Care: U.S. System 'Evil'
Justin Bieber has taken the United States by storm, but if he gets sick, he may find himself retreating back to Canada -- and not just for the home-cooked meals.
Bieber, a 16-year old popstar who was nominated for two Grammys and saw his bio movie make $30 million this weekend, covers the new issue of Rolling Stone. In addition to talking the usual trappings of fame -- the music, the tour stories, the girls -- the magazine asked him to wade a bit into the political waters. At least on one major issue, he already has a fully formed opinion.
Asked if he wanted to become an American citizen, Bieber made clear his love for Canada -- and its health care system.
"You guys are evil," he told the magazine, out on February 18th. "Canada's the best country in the world. We go to the doctor and we don't need to worry about paying him, but here, your whole life, you're broke because of medical bills. My bodyguard's baby was premature, and now he has to pay for it. In Canada, if your baby's premature, he stays in the hospital as long as he needs to, and then you go home."

I've always made fun of the little twerp, but I'm duly impressed that he came out and said that. I wonder how many Faux loving parents are going to destroy their little girls Bieber stuff over this?

Mothers in British Columbia are having a baby boom, but it's the United States that has to deliver, and that has some proud Canadians blasting their highly touted government healthcare system.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medicare_%28Canada%29
Opponents of Medicare often raise issues such as long wait times, a 'brain-drain' drawing qualified professionals away from Canada to other jurisdictions where working in the health care field is more profitable, and impairment of the Canadian health care system due to budget cuts. Fox News ran a story in 2007 reporting that during a period of above average numbers of births, at least 40 Canadian mothers of premature babies had to travel to the U.S. for treatment due to insufficient capacity for premature babies in British Columbia neonatal units. Nonetheless, Canada's Medicare system covered the health care costs of those mothers affected
Absent: any discussion on who pays for this shit.
You were expecting any real discussion on that issue? At Democrat Underground? It's just "gimme my shit for free" and let me smoke dope wherever/whenever I want.Wasn't expecting, just noting.
I hope the evil little rich bastard gets sick and has to go to a U.S. hospital so he'll be broke like the rest of us. [DU/MODE]
Hey, he said it not me.

Though he's not old enough to vote yet, 16-year-old Justin Bieber discloses that he doesn't know much about politics but he does have some strong views on abortion.
"I'm not sure about the parties," the teen heartthrob admitted to Rolling Stone magazine when asked if he supports the Republicans or Democrats. "But whatever they have in Korea, that's bad."
Justin hasn't picked a political party but he is pro-life, telling the magazine, "I really don't believe in abortion. ... It's like killing a baby?" When asked how he feels about the procedure when it comes to victims of rape, he responded, "Um. Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that."
In addition to his pro-life views, Justin also shared some conservative views when it came to the subject of sex. "I don't think you should have sex with anyone unless you love them. ... I think you should just wait for the person you're ... in love with." The pop star is rumored to be dating 18-year-old Selena Gomez.

That only took about half an hour for the DUmmies' worm to turn on her.
Last I saw, Ralph, Bieber was a "him." :tongue:Apparently you've seen more than we have.

That's what I've heard, but was just making fun. Like calling Rachel Maddow "him". :-)
Showing my age here...clueless who this Beiber person is. His/her picture shows a cute kid. Any talent in any way?
A Janesville man started a fight at a bar because someone called him a Justin Bieber look-alike. He was ticketed for disorderly conduct.

From what I understand, he was a nobody who posted videos on YouTube. Some agent discovered him on YouTube... and now we're stuck with this girl in America. I can't even get on Twitter without seeing at least two trending topics about Justin Beiber. It's the most annoying thing in the world.
I found this on my hometown news site.
It's pretty serious.
The last one is a toss-up. :fuelfire:

142. How does the fact that you don't like Bieber
make his message about the Canadian health care system any more or less correct? Notice no "lol" b/c it's not ****ing funny.
That's what I've heard, but was just making fun. Like calling Rachel Maddow "him". :-)
It just occurred to me why you all hate Canada. It's not our better health care or any of that, it's the fact we put out stuff like Justin Bieber.

Canada gave us Celine Dion and Shania Twain, and Anne Murray.
Reason enough for them to exist right there, franksolich, sir.

I dunno. I am more of a Keanu Reeves, Dan Ackroyd, Phil Hartman, and Tommy Chong kinda girl myself. :-)

They should have kept Celine Dion.
Out of all the people mentioned I would have only wanted Phil Hartman to be American.
I believe Celine Dion lives in Las Vegas. She has a show at Caesar's, or at least did. Not sure if it's still there or not.Nah, it's gone. It was still playing a few years ago, but when hubby and I visited last July she was packed and moved out.
How stupid do you have to be to take political cues from a 16 year old pop starWell....if he reads the script....and understands the script.....why not?

From the perspective of a DUmbass, what other choices do you have?
