OK  I was wrong.  He had to wear a flack jacket when he got back

But he still might have been using some form of protection while he was away.

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

Not to be overly cynical, but better he admits to this now than in the middle of a presidential campaign.  Then again, the way Obozo is going, even that might not matter, such will be the desire to throw him out.

"These are men who love themselves deeply, need to be recognized and relish approval. These are men who adore getting praise and who often are surrounded by swarms of sycophants. These are men who, in some cases, need to exercise power and sometimes can become drunk from it. These are men who think the rules don't apply to them and who think they're untouchable.

As leaders, these are also the type of men who are likely to break promises, manipulate and cut corners. They probably are big risk-takers. And they're prone to thinking of themselves first."

Euph? I love ya brother but this is not a new phenomenon! Human beings have always done this and will continue to do this. Do you really believe that the politicians you have voted for over the years have always been the proverbial rock your church is built on? This is not new! Men in positions of power in both political parties have done this ,do this now and will continue to do this. If yopu want ethics....don't put your faith in a politician.

I'm well aware of what politicians and people in power have done over the millenia. Although I'm a victim of public education, I did catch a few things along the way.  ;)

My point is, if you take an oath and you violate it - you're toast. Or should be, anyway.

No, I don't live in a utopia where everybody is happy, joyous, and free. No, I don't live in a fairy tale world where Dorothy gets to go home in red slippers. I'm very much a realist, just as you are.

But I do have standards. And a person who violates his spouse's trust holds no favor with me. Does chasing a skirt make Sanford et. al. evil? No, but it does make a person ineligible for public office, IMHO.
